Global Crop Mapping at Field Scale
• demonstrate the feasibility of global crop mapping at field scale based on open high resolution EO data (S1, S2, L8);
• mapping at 10 m the global extent of annual cropland and two of the major
staple crops wheat and maize on a seasonal basis;
• build a collaborative approach to exchange with the agricultural community relevant in-situ data sets and disseminate the global crop mapping results
• showcase the utility of the WorldCereal products by conducting use case studies related to the GEOGLAM initiative and SDG reporting;

LSTM – Managing Water for Agriculture
• Provides Thermal Infra-Red observations in high spatial resolution and temporal frequency in support of agriculture
management services What
Why
• Improves sustainable water productivity at field scale
• Addresses increasing Water and Food Security issues in a world of increasing water scarcity and variability
• Responds to major agricultural & environmental policies
How
• Unprecedented 30-50 meter observations in 3-5 thermal bands
• Frequent Land Surface Temperature (LST) at daily to 3 days revisit • World-class instrument providing 1-1.5K LST radiometric accuracy
Monitoring of water bodies from space
fully operational services deployed to provide long term time series concerning global distribution of water bodies, and change in extent
Monitoring of water productivity
biomass production per hectare per cubic meter of water consumed with distinction is made between rain-fed and water-fed agriculture as well as
evapotranspiration originating from precipitation (‘green’ water) and incremental evaporation originating from irrigation (‘blue’ water)
