Why PRECISION, AIR CONDITIONERS?
when initial costs and operating costs are both taken into account, precision cooling systems actually represent the most cost-effective
solution to cooling sensitive electronics, due to following items:
High ambient temperature means continuos operation with very high external temperature
The units accept maximum ambient temperatures of 60°C, against the 50°C of other conditioners
It means that for standard temperature application, these unit required less maintenance interventions
Precision type air conditioner means less consumption
The Total Cooling Power (TCP), supplied by an air conditioner unit, is identified as the sum of two cooling powers:

Sensible cooling power, which works on room temperature. This energy is for to oppose, the heat issued by electronic
components
-
Latent cooling power, which works on room humidity, present in the air, or issued by human bodies (water condensation),
which is directly connected with the human comfort
In the air conditioners for comfort application, the latent cooling power is about 30-40% of Total Cooling Power. These unit are called
Comfort Air Conditioners. In these unit, 30-40% of consumption power is wasted for “human comfort”.
In installation were the humans are not present, it has no sense to waste this latent energy. For this application, the PRECISON AIR
CONDITIONERS are used. Their Total Cooling Power, it is represented by a Sensible cooling, of minimum 95% of TCP and latent
cooling of maximum 5%.
It means that for non comfort installation, the precision air conditioner, compared with same power of a comfort air conditioner, gives
at least 35% more usable energy. In the same way, it gives same cooling effect as the comfort type, with 35% less of power
consumption.
High internal air flow
To obtain “precision” performances, the internal air flow is, about double, compared with confort or standard unit. This means better
cooling performance inside the cabinet, due to the higher air flow recirculation.
Over dimensioned evaporator coil
To obtain “precision” performances, the internal evaporator coil is quite bigger than the standard type. These data, together with better
internal air flow, means better cooling performances were dense electronic loads are present.
High external external air flow
To obtain “precision” performances, also the external air flow is, about double, compared with confort or standard unit.
Overdimensioned condenser coil
To obtain “precision” performances, the condenser coil is quite bigger than the standard type. These data, together with better internal
air flow, means better cooling performances, were ambient temperature have high values. This without to reduce compressor time life
or increase power consumption.

Condenser fan with speed controller
Very high ambient temperature limit and low ambiente temperature limit operation require the condenser fan speed control, in order
to offer best performance at both temperatures.
Expansion valve, for refrigerant circuit flexible operation
When high ambient temperature variations are present, the expansion process control can not accept the cheap capillary pipe
solution. The expansion valve guarantee the best performances at every ambiental condition.
No/less water condensation
Due to “precion” type operation, the quantity of humidity, transformed in water condensation, is the strictly necessary.
Outdoor wall mount installation
The unit are available, as standard option, in wall mount application version. On request, other solution are available.
External alumium cabinet protection
What is ATEX
ATEX is a short name for Directive 94/9/CE of the European
Community, of the 23rd of March 1994, in force from the 1st
of July 2003.
The word ATEX is obtained from the fusion of the French
wording: " Atmosphere Explosible".
This Directive harmonizes the standards of the European
Community members about the electro/mechanical machinery
to be used in potentially explosive environment.
An explosive atmosphere is a mixture of air and combustible
gases, vapours, fumes or dusts under atmospheric conditions
where combustion rapidly expands itself (explosion) after
ignition.
The application of the ATEX Directive comprehends all the
machines that are going to be installed within the European
Community, in potentially explosive environments.
The ATEX 94/9/CE European Directive classifies the
hazardous areas depending on the kind of dangerous
substances:
Gas (letter G)
Dust (letter D)
Gas-Dust (letter GD)
The ATEX Directive identifies the European certified bodies
(CESI, TÜV, KEMA, INERIS, Nemko,...) that are able to
examine the documentation, to carry out testing and checking,
to file the technical documents and to release the certification
for the equipment to be used in hazardous areas.

Cos’è l’ ATEX
Con il nome ATEX si identifica la Direttiva 94/9/CE della
Comunità Europea del
23 Marzo 1994, entrata in vigore a partire dal 1
Luglio
2003.
Il nome ATEX deriva dalla contrazione delle parole: "
Atmosphere Explosible".
Tale Direttiva Europea armonizza e regola le legislazioni degli
Stati membri in materia di apparecchiature destinate
all'utilizzo in atmosfere potenzialmente esplosive.
Con atmosfera esplosiva s'intende una miscela di aria e gas,
vapori,fumi o polveri combustibili la cui combustione si
propaga rapidamente (esplosione) dopo l'accensione a
pressione atmosferica.
Il campo d'applicazione della Direttiva ATEX comprende tutti
gli apparecchi che devono essere installati, all'interno della
Comunità Europea, in ambienti potenzialmente a rischio di
esplosione.
In base alla tipologia di sostanza fonte di pericolo le atmosfere
esplosive si classificano in:
Gas (indicate con la lettera G)
Polveri (indicate con la lettera D)
Gas-Polveri (indicate con la lettera GD)
La Direttiva ATEX identifica inoltre, gli organismi europei
notificati (CESI, TÜV, KEMA, INERIS, Nemko..) abilitati
all'esame e verifica (previa esecuzione di test
specifici) della documentazione tecnica e al rilascio dei
certificati di tipo sulle apparecchiature per l'utilizzo in
atmosfera esplosiva. I prodotti in conformità ATEX
comprendono entrambi i marchi:
Dangerous areas include any area in which explosive
atmospheres may occur under specific conditions. The user or
system designer shall classify the hazardous areas as indicated
in the European directive 1999/92/EC under his own
responsibility.
Le aree pericolose sono luoghi in cui in determintate
condizioni si possono sviluppare atmosfere esplosive.
L'utilizzatore o il progettista è tenuto ad effettuare, sotto la
propria responsabilità, la classificazione della aree pericolose
come indicato nella Direttiva Europea 1999/92/CE.
La Direttiva ATEX fissa i criteri per la classificazione degli
apparecchi in funzione del grado di protezione assicurato:

When machinery has to be installed in zone with combustible
gas or vapours (Category G) the correct Temperature class and
enclosure group must be checked.
