This course supported students in gaining basic knowledge and skill in the activity of swimming, as well as improving personal skills and fitness through swimming activities. Concepts of

hydronamics, exercise physiology, biomechanics, and coaching were integrated into the course.

This course provided an overview of a variety of physical and relaxation activities to control and manage stress. Concepts of psychology, physiology, physical education, and meditation were integrated into the course.

This course provided an overview of advanced swimming principles and conditioning. Concepts of hydronamics, exercise physiology, and biomechanics were integrated into the course.

This course provided an overview of techniques and strategies of coaching swimming and an in-depth understanding of rules and techniques of swimming officiating. Advanced concepts of hydronamics, biomechanics, and exercise physiology were integrated into the course.

RLS 350 Supervision in Recreation & Leisure Services (University of Nevada Las Vegas: 1

section), Fall 2008

The course focused on principles and practices of supervision in sport, recreation, and leisure service organizations. It also examined the responsibilities of resource managers and executives who perform personnel functions. The orientation of the course focused on human resource practices related primarily to sport, recreation, and leisure organizations, with an emphasis on volunteer management.

RLS 435 Sport & Recreation Event Management (University of Nevada Las Vegas: 1

section), Spring 2009

This course provided students with the skills necessary to propose, develop, and conduct sport and recreation-related contests and special events. Through an experiential learning process, students increased their knowledge on various aspects of event management (budgeting, operations, marketing, media relations, public relations, sponsorship, registration, hospitality,

RLS 445 Parks & Recreation Facility Management (University of Nevada Las Vegas: 1 section), Spring 2009

This course acquainted students with the scope and complexity of the design, operation, and upkeep of sport and recreation facilities. The students developed an awareness of the wide variety of disciplines necessary for the construction and competent administration of major sport and recreation venues including stadiums, golf courses, recreation centers and playing fields.

This course provided an overview of theories and principles involved in managing a program in sport, athletics & physical education. This included the development of an administrative handbook, a strategic management and assessment plan, an appropriate organizational budget, and an organizational structure plan for the organization.

SES 678 Event Development & Management (University of Northern Colorado: 1 section),

Spring 2006

This course was designed to provide students with the skills necessary to propose, develop and conduct sport-related contests and special events including game management and facility management.
