Utilising extensive experience gained from over 70 years of innovation,

systems and products.

A wide range of technologies and processes has been developed for these systems and these are supported by the in-house testing and qualification facilities of GKN Aerospace.

Helicopter Emergency Flotation Systems

GKN Aerospace - Portsmouth is a recognised authority in the design, manufacture and qualification and support of complete emergency flotation systems.

Fuel Tanks & Systems

CRASHWORTHY FUEL CELL UNDERGOING REPAIRS

GKN Aerospace - Portsmouth has supplied an extensive range of products

for different types of fixed and rotary wing aircraft, land vehicles, missiles,

UAVs, torpedos and marine vessels, and has also designed, qualified and

manufactured a variety of range extender tanks and auxiliary fuel tanks for

fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.

GKN Aerospace - Portsmouth has developed rotational moulded rigid fuel containers as well as flexible elastomeric and lightweight fabric reinforced thermoplastic tanks for a range of military fighting vehicles, including internal and external mounted products.

GKN Aerospace - Portsmouth has also developed and manufactured fuel tanks and thermal compensator systems for missiles and torpedoes with extensive and proven operational capabilities in excess of 20 years.

Self Sealing Technologies

GKN Aerospace - Portsmouth can incorporate a variety of materials in its design of both flexible and rigid fuel containers to provide complete self sealing ballistic protection. This can be used in both aircraft and military vehicle applications.

Crashworthy Fuel Containment

GKN Aerospace - Portsmouth has developed an extensive range of elastomeric and thermoplastic fabric reinforced fuel bladders for the aviation industry to increase protection from the risk associated with post crash fire. These products are certificated to the latest FAR 27/29 standards and military specifications.

Ultra Lightweight Fuel Bladders

GKN Aerospace - Portsmouth can design and manufacture ultra lightweight fuel bladders from thin film polymer laminates for the UAV and RPV markets.
