CLIENT SERVICE INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Client service interns are part of daily marketing and advertising operations. The internship provides the opportunity to develop work samples for a portfolio. Overall, participants will see first-hand how advertising strategies are developed and implemented.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a portfolio of all work completed during the period of internship • Provide support with general office administration-related duties as assigned • Assist in coordination of campaign and project activities

• Coordinate planning and execution of advertising activities for clients

• Acquire knowledge of clients’ business and anticipate needs, solutions and opportunities • Proofread copy, proofs and other media for accuracy

• Track and analyze competitive activity and consumer trends • Initiate jobs under the direction of account management QUALIFICATIONS

• 3.0 GPA or higher and be a college junior, senior or graduate student • Communications, advertising or marketing major

• Excellent writing, editing and personal skills • Good communication skills, verbal and written • Ability to multitask

• Proficient in Microsoft and internet applications

• Well organized and responsible for timely completion of work • Enthusiasm for the field of advertising and marketing

• Professional appearance and conduct HOURS

15 hours a week/12-14 weeks

INTERACTIVE MEDIA INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven, detail-oriented student to become a member of the

interactive media team as an intern. As an interactive media intern, you will be a part of the daily operations of the interactive department. Learn about the interactive media plans and the strategy behind them.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with digital media planners on the placement of media in interactive campaigns. • Work with the interactive team in analyzing raw data to help report on interactive campaigns.

• Assisting in the tracking of invoicing and the balancing of interactive budgets of ongoing and completed campaigns.

• Participation in internal and client meetings on the status and results of completed and ongoing campaigns.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Interactive Media or related field major

• 3.0 GPA or higher and be a Junior, Senior or graduate student • A strong confidence in the use of Microsoft Excel

• Confidence with financial mathematics and the balancing of budgets

• Professional confidentiality with the numbers and budgets of client campaigns • Good communication skills, both verbal and written

• Must be able to multitask and manage time effectively among multiple projects • Must be able to work autonomously, as well as part of a team

• Enthusiasm for the field of advertising and marketing • Preferred experience:

o Previous internship experience

o Experience with Google Adwords or Search Engine Management

o Experience with Google Analytics or Search Engine Optimization

o Experience with MediaMind or another third-party ad-serving platform

o Experience with Facebook Marketplace Power Editor HOURS

MEDIA INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a highly motivated, self-drive, detail-oriented student to become a member of the media team as an intern. As an intern you will be included as part of the daily operations of the media department. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Media Planners and Buyers with research and management of schedules and budgets, pre and post flights.

• Attend meetings with clients and media vendors

• Utilize secondary research to determine whom to target and what their media habits are • Evaluate each media to determine both target effectiveness and cost efficiency

• Negotiate with media vendors to maximize cost efficiency • Create and present a media plan

• Learn how a media department communicates with both clients and vendors QUALIFICATIONS

• Media or related field major

• 3.0 GPA or higher and be a Junior, Senior or graduate student • A strong confidence in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point • Confidence with financial mathematics and the balancing of budgets • Ability to analyze research to develop strategy

• Professional confidentiality with client strategy and budget information • Good verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively

• Ability to work both autonomously as well as with a team • Enthusiasm for the field of advertising and marketing HOURS

PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a public relations intern, he or she will be an extension of the PR team and an integral component to the agency’s daily tasks and operations. This internship will also provide an opportunity to develop professional skills, create work samples for portfolio use and learn the interworking of PR function. This internship is a semester-long commitment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Dedicate the equivalent of 12-18 hours per week for 12-14 weeks • Develop a portfolio of all work completed during the period of internship • Support the preparation and distribution of media releases

• Assist in conducting research for clients • Aid in planning client events and seminars • Assist in preparing general client correspondence

• Attend at least one breakfast or luncheon sponsored by the Florida Public Relations Association or Public Relations Society of America with an &Barr staff member

• Write at least three media releases and proceed through the editing process, with guidance from an account executive

• Help create social media content across several platforms for various clients APPLICATION DEADLINES

• Experience in CisionPoint a plus
