Channel Management is the organization of

ways which companies can reach and satisfy

customers. It involves more than just

distribution. It is more like the management of

how and where a product is used.

 Legal Issues regarding channel

management:

 There are a ton of regulations and rules that need to be followed in channel

management like the

prohibition to steal products and staking out territory to sell a good is illegal.

 Sherman Act of 1890, Clayton Act of 1914,

Robinson-Pattman Act of 1936, and the Federal Trade Commission Act of 1914. These all prevent illegal activities.

 Ethical issues regarding channel management:

 Coercion is the act of force or intimidation to obtain compliance.

 Gray market is the trade of a commodity through

Selling is a huge part of a business or

company. It is the actual act of selling the final

product the company has made and developed.

Selling occurs in many places ranging from on

the internet or from a store. Those are the two

most useful and popular places to sell a

 There is also a law that makes sure that children who are

under the age of 13 have to have privacy notices and parental consent.

 Some deceptive acts of selling are violating do not call lists, failing to disclose all terms of customer agreements,

charging customers without adequate notice, and refusing liability of third party retailers and installers.

 There are a ton of things that influence a salesperson’s ethics in selling, and here are a few of them: gift-giving, promises and/or guarantee about performance and delivery, and selling unnecessary products.

Pricing affects a ton of

things, but one thing that is specifically important relating to pricing is:

promotion. Sometimes a promotion can only be made possible with the right price, and it can’t be any higher. It really

depends on the company’s budget and how much

they want to spend on giving promotions to their employees.

 There is also a part of social responsibility that is related to pricing, which are pricing tactics. Having stuff on sale and clearance is part of social responsibility for a manager or storeowner because they want to make their customers happy with sells once in a while.
