accreditation bodies. These programs are ideal

for full-time, working professionals who wish to

gain additional valuable credentials to further their

careers. They are several months in length, with many

assignments and projects that are intended to be

American Heart Association (AHA)

As the primary AHA International Training Center in Qatar, we provide certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Courses meet the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) standards.

BASiC life SuPPort (BlS) Provider - BleNded leArNiNg

This course was designed to prepare a wide variety of healthcare professionals to provide CPR, use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and relieve choking in adults and children.

Participants must successfully complete the on-line assessment prior to the practical assessment dates listed below. Completion certificate from the BLS online course must be presented on practical testing dates.

This course was designed by the AHA to prepare a wide variety of healthcare professionals to recognize several life threatening emergencies and provide CPR, use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This course includes adult, child, and infant rescue skills in both the out-of-hospital and in-hospital settings.

AdvANCed CArdiAC life SuPPort Provider – BleNded leArNiNg

This AHA ACLS course is designed for healthcare providers who participate in the resuscitation of a patient to improve the quality of care provided to the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergency.

Participants must successfully complete the on-line assessment prior to the practical assessment dates listed below. Completion certificate from the ACLS online course must be presented on practical testing dates.

Prerequisites:

• Valid BLS-HCP card or equivalent

AdvANCed CArdiAC life SuPPort Provider The AHA ACLS course is designed for healthcare providers to improve the quality of care provided to adult victims of a cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. Learners will enhance their skills through a series of simulated cardiac and respiratory cases designed to reinforce the importance of CPR to patient survival and the importance of effective team communication during resuscitation. Prerequisites:

PediAtriC AdvANCed life SuPPort Provider The AHA PALS Provider course is designed to aid pediatric healthcare providers in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently evaluate and manage seriously ill infants and children. Through simulation, learners will assess for respiratory and circulatory compromise, establish treatment priorities, and intervene to stabilize the child. Case studies include management of cardiac arrest and arrhythmia, and immediate post resuscitation care. Prerequisites:

Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW)

overall Purpose of an instructional Skills Workshop

The ISW is offered within a small group setting (four to six participants) and is designed to enhance teaching effectiveness. This workshop is suitable for experienced or inexperienced educators, corporate trainers and government employees who deliver training. As a participant you will:

• Write learning objectives with accompanying lesson plans • Practice techniques for eliciting learner participation • Evaluate the learning from your lessons

• Experience theme sessions on such topics as learning styles, collaborative learning, classroom assessment techniques, and effective questioning methods Workshop goals

• Design, develop and deliver three mini-lessons • Receive and provide written and oral feedback

from peers

• Review theory and practice about teaching and learning On completion of the workshop, participants will receive a certificate endorsed by the ISW International Committee.

The National Examination Board in Occupational

Safety and Health (NEBOSH)

NeBoSh international general Certificate in occupational health and Safety

The International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is suitable for managers, supervisors and staff from all types of organizations who make day-to-day decisions at work and need a broad understanding of health and safety issues to be able to manage risks effectively. The International General Certificate takes a risk management approach based on best practice and international standards, such as International Labour

Organisation (ILO) codes of practice, with special reference to the model proposed in the ILO’s Guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (ILO-OSH 2001). Qatar laws and cultural factors form part of the study program where relevant and appropriate.

Research Assistant Certificate

Individuals working on research projects need to complete many tasks to ensure overall success. Often, research projects are like running a small business, and being prepared for these challenges can be overwhelming. In this program, participants will be exposed to key aspects of research fundamentals and practices while building a portfolio for future job placement.

The Research Assistant Certificate program is comprised of six courses that are taught in a collaborative and integrated format to develop teamwork among participants.

Banking and Finance

The Centre for Banking and Financial Studies is a division of CNA–Q’s School of Business Studies that provides training for those currently working in, or aspiring to work in, Qatar’s banking and financial services industry. The centre has graduated over 250 Qatari Nationals from customized banking programs ranging from 13 weeks to two years, and has served the majority of the banks in Qatar.
