Responsible for significant aspects of the accreditation and evaluation program of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The accreditation process ensures compliance with established standards and elements of performance that protect the Planned Parenthood trademark, ensure quality health care, and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. Specific areas of responsibility include the following areas: human resources, board and administration, information technology, public affairs, fund development, finance, business operations, and education. Supervises Accreditation Evaluation Department Staff, program subject matter experts, and consultants.

Responsible for administrative oversight and clinical supervision of approximately 100 advanced practice clinicians(midlevel providers) and registered nurses

throughout a three state area health network consisting of at thirty-one practice sites. Worked to continually improve the quality and cost effectiveness of customer-focused care. Integrated best practices into the overall operations and functions of the agency in collaboration with and support of members of the senior management team. Project co-lead for implementation of electronic practice and medical records systems.

Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest (PPGNW) (formerly Planned Parenthood of Western Washington). Provided administrative oversite to nursing and clinician services; worked to continually improve the quality and cost

effectiveness of care provided by PPGNW Clinicians and Registered Nurses and incorporates those functions into the overall operations and improvement of the agency. Responsible for administrative oversight and clinical supervision of approximately 100 advanced practice clinicians(midlevel providers) and registered nurses throughout a three state area health network consisting of at thirty-one practice sites.

Responsible for administrative oversight and clinical supervision of approximately 40 advanced practice clinicians and registered nurses throughout the south Puget Sound area at eleven practice sites. As part of the leadership team, accountable for aspects of strategic planning, quality improvement, evaluation and development of new service lines, community outreach, and regulatory compliance. Responsible for management of personnel issues and performance appraisals for the advanced practice clinicians. Supervises clinician/RN trainers. Provides direct patient care on a routine periodic basis.

Responsible for daily departmental operations and supervision of professional and non-professional staff. Responsible for managing cost centers (budgets) totaling over $800,000. Provided educational services to the system’s 5,000 employees. Oversaw 3-year phased implementation of performance based development system or PBDS, a system-wide performance based competency assessment process. Developed the educational process, including curriculum, and approach to support the operations restructuring initiative, Patient Focused Work Design (PFWD). Facilitated training and retraining of over 1,300 employees as preparation for roles in the restructured health system environment. Designed and developed a multi-media employee resource center to support continuing education, staff

development, and lifelong learning. Oversaw the design planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical education and other programs that enhance staff development. Administrative responsibility for affiliation agreements with institutions of higher education. Administered continuing education accreditation activities. Managed fiscal and strategic planning processes of the department. Served as resource and consultant to senior management for staff development, scope of practice, regulatory, and perinatal standard of care issues. Special projects as needed or assigned.

Responsible for supervision of Librarian and technical staff. The facility provided services for physicians and health system employees. Access promoted the delivery of quality care by providing direct access to the latest medical and health education information. Also participated in interlibrary loans with other library facilities. Maintained service contract with another local hospital and with hundreds of special members. Collection included hardcopy and electronic journals, books, and reference databases. Facility also housed a multi-media collection or educational resources. Oversaw design and construction of a new facility in 1997.

Health profession regulatory board responsible for setting nursing standards of practice, licensure and educational requirements, and discipline sanctions for all practical, registered and advanced practice nurses in Washington State.
