Roche Products Pty Limited (Australia) is part of the

international F. Hoffman-La Roche Group, which was

founded in 1896 in Basel, Switzerland. Roche has been

committed to improving the health and wellbeing of

people in Australia for over 60 years.

When Roche Products relocated its Asia Pacific office from Sydney, Australia to China, they also assessed their back office strategy, including payroll services; and subsequently issued a Request for Proposal for Payroll Outsourcing to the market.

Roche specifically required its chosen service provider to ensure full legislative compliance and provide up-to-date information on relevant legislative changes. They also needed to maintain the high level of service delivery to their organisation and wished to continually enhance self-service capability for managers and employees.

These functions are standard to Talent2’s outsourced Payroll Services and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and could be accommodated easily. The overall Talent2 proposal included management of the outsourcing of all payroll functions, from entry through to Payroll Processing and Disbursement Management. The solution was supported by a world-class hosting service with high standards of technical and application support.

By outsourcing their payroll processing to Talent2, Roche was able to achieve savings in time and money, effectively multiply the power of their people and continue to provide the same high level of service to the organisation.

Roche specifically required its chosen service provider to ensure full legislative compliance and provide up-to-date information on relevant legislative changes.

Since 1969, Taylor’s Education Group, has evolved into one of

Malaysia’s most reputable private education institutions. Consisting

of Taylor’s University and Taylor’s College, Taylor’s students develop

education with a strong global perspective, enabling true contribution

to the development of Malaysia’s economic growth and prosperity.

Taylor’s went to market seeking a human resources solution that would integrate with their learning and talent management software, Cornerstone On Demand; and cater for the groups future expansion.

Shortlisting only two solutions, Taylors selected Talent2. This decision was based on Talent2’s experience across the health, environment & safety and educational sectors in Australia and New Zealand; and the comparable functionality at a fraction of the cost.

Taylor’s was the first Asian University to sign with Talent2, stating that Talent2 offered the most comprehensive and professional vendor presentation evaluated, which catered for what Taylor’s wanted to see and not what Talent2 wanted to show.

The Talent2 HRIS provides Taylor’s with more efficient reporting as well as web enabled services such as e-payslip, an e-expense claim function and richer functionality overall. The next phase of

the implementation will cover several additional HRIS modules, such as Remuneration Planning, Key Performance Investigator, Discoverer Training and Web Self Service.

The system compliments Taylor’s expansion strategy into the markets of Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea and China.

Taylor’s was the first Asian University to sign with Talent2, stating that Talent2 offered the most comprehensive and professional vendor presentation evaluated, which catered for what Taylor’s wanted to see and not what Talent2 wanted to show.

CQUniversity Australia (CQU) is focused on making higher education and

research more readily accessible to all people, especially those who live and

work in Central Queensland. CQU was among the first Australian universities

to provide distance education and are rated as one of the best in Australia

for the overall education experience and graduate starting salaries.

In March 1993, CQU implemented the Talent2 Human Resources Information System (HRIS); primarily using the Personnel Administration, Payroll Management, Leave Administration and Applicant Tracking modules; in support of another system. By 2004, the other system was out of date impeding operations for the university and no longer supported by a vendor.

CQU approved a business case in 2006, to upgrade systems and to perform a health check and data cleanse on both the human resources data and the associated processes. By November 2006, the required infrastructure changes were made and the software application was upgraded to the most current available version. In addition to the standing Talent2 HRIS modules, CQU implemented Talent2’S Web Self Service module, known within CQU as the ‘Employee Self Service Online’ module; and by 2008 tested a major Talent2 software upgrade, subsequently becoming the first university outside of pilot groups to adopt the new version.

CQU subsequently rolled out all modules of Talent2’s HRIS with no required customisation and completed the Beta testing for the product on behalf of the other users. The Talent2 HRIS is recognised as an integral part of the CQU’s core business systems and the single authoritative source of employee information. The web kiosk function provides increased visibility and data availability for organisational management efficiency.

The changes made to CQU’s core application have driven significant time and cost savings benefits in data entry and workflow approval processes:

» Performance Management module: enables CQU managers to schedule and track meetings and has removed a significant manual, paper based system. » Online leave processing: has resulted in the removal

of 12,000 manual leave forms over a 12 month period and an impressive 85% of all leave being booked and approved on the same day.

» Payslips Online: The requirement for printing of payslips and payment summaries has been removed, resulting in a direct full-time equivalent saving of one day per fortnight and employees now receive their payroll details in a timely manner.

» Online Update: CQU employees can now update online details relating to their bank account, status, address and emergency contacts.

Throughout this process, CQU has received

encouragement and support from Talent2 to ensure the relationship continues to grow and strengthen. CQU continues to use the HRIS to its full potential and take on extra functionalities as required.

The Talent2 HRIS is recognised as an integral part of the CQU’s core business systems and the single authoritative source of employee information.

The Disability Services Commission (Disability WA) is the

Western Australian State Government agency responsible

for enhancing opportunities, community participation

and quality of life for people with disabilities.

Supporting an in house human resources department and payroll system engaged valuable resources and Talent2 was approached for a solution that would allow Disability WA to concentrate on their core business of helping the disability community.

A preferred supplier of human resources services to the Western Australian Government, Talent2 was approached based on its own merits and track record. Talent2 has a proven reputation for its handling of the Western Australian Government contracts, based

on the provision of quick award builds, rostering and leave and payroll calculations.

Disability WA consequently engaged Talent2 to provide a robust human resources and payroll solution, human resources and financial software, a staff rostering system and an electronic swipe card interface.

Each implementation commenced with an Implementation Planning Study to confirm all governance, resources and project milestones. Full implementation took approximately six months and

the project was completed on time and on budget. Talent2 continues to offer add-on solutions for improved functionality and increased automation.

The real benefit for Disability WA is that the focus is once again on the people that matter. Talent2’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS) has allowed improved services to the residents of Perth living with, or caring for, people with disabilities.

Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) is a learning community

consisting of over 130 schools within the Archdiocese of

Brisbane. BCE is committed to high quality teaching and

learning for more than 64,000 young people enrolled in its

schools and colleges from Prep to Year 12.

To support its 9,500 staff BCE sought a more efficient human resource and payroll system with the ability to allow operational management to remain under the control of BCE. Talent2’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS) was chosen by BCE due to its capability and value for money.

The initial solution included Web Self Service, an online user interface for staff to access human resource and payroll information, as well as the first stages of a Management Reporting System and the Learning Management System.

Talent2 worked collaboratively with BCE to implement the HRIS software and the project partnership focused on transferring operational skills to BCE; with onsite representation for full support throughout implementation. Additional modules have since been added including Occupational Health and Safety and online timesheets for employee completion.

The application has helped to support and engage staff across the multiple site, BCE community and staff have embraced the online system to share valuable data to the business and principals.

As required, the system is under the control of

BCE and continues to be fully supported by the Talent2 Account Management team. BCE are able to make customer service requests via Talent2’s professional response centre.

The relationship between BCE and Talent2 is a strong ongoing partnership with both parties interested in developing and improving the system for greater efficiencies and return on investment to BCE.

The Web Self Service system has proven the most popular way for staff to interact with the application because of its ease of use and accessibility.

Historically, the arinex payroll department was a one-person operation, making it difficult for leave periods and other absences. The company couldn’t offer any career development for their payroll specialist, which meant attracting quality candidates, was near impossible. arinex approached Talent2 for payroll outsourcing with the key requirements being engagement of a specialist who could provide accuracy, professionalism, quick turnaround and a reliable service at a reduced cost. Talent2 knew its Managed Payroll Processing Service would suit arinex and provided system demonstrations

and client references to showcase its capability. This system was proposed due to its web-based Employee Self-Service functionality and a Deduction Management System, both of which would automate arinex’s processes. Intellectual property around payroll was held by the one person inside arinex, posing immense business risk and Talent2 therefore approached implementation by documenting policies and procedures to replicate payroll requirements. A payroll specialist was also provided to support the existing payroll system during changeover and reduce risk further.

In outsourcing payroll processing to Talent2, arinex now saves approximately 40% of their annual processing costs through reduced personnel and retains full intellectual property on their payroll process. Talent2 has helped arinex to save time and money and multiplied the power of their people to focus on their company goals. Talent2 enjoys a great relationship with arinex.

The clearest assessment that can be made (about the Managed Payroll Processing Service) is that there have been no complaints about the payroll service since the outsource to Talent2.
