Chinese Astrology

For centuries the Chinese have been fascinated with the mystery of Chinese metaphysics. A reading of the four items of their birth data allows them to delve into the great mysteries of life. This reading allows them to gain an interpretation of their destiny code written in the eight characters of their birth data.

The Year, Month, Day and Hour of birth are translated into eight distinct Chinese Characters. These Eight Characters (or Ba Zi) make four pairs. Each pair is also known as a pillar, hence the term Four Pillars. The pillars refer to the Year, the Month, the Day and the Hour of birth. Each Pillar is made up of two characters, a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. Hence four pillars consist of eight characters.

Discerning clients will look for more in-depth and profound understanding of this metaphysical art. The advice given by skilled astrologers trained in logical deductions are based on the Chinese Five Elements theory (wood, fire, earth, metal, water).

The Chinese calendar is also expressed in these same elements. An individual’s birth details can be translated into a combination of these elements, making up the ten personality types below. Only One character from the Eight Characters is read here.

Ba Zi or Four Pillars influences destiny, the way we handle relationships, comfort zones, choices, life fulfilment, prosperity and well-being. Every life situation is distinguished by the elements of metal, water, wood, fire, earth.

The aim of reading our Eight Characters is to read the road map carefully before we embark on the chosen road trip. Knowing what course of action to take especially at a crossroad requires informed decisions.

The reading allows us to investigate the potential pathways of our lives. It also enables us to explore the cyclical influence of our 'predetermined factor' in areas pertaining to relationships, family, friends, wealth, fame, partnership, business, recognition, career and studies.

The Eight Characters are made up of a combination of the yin and yang

variations of the Five Elements. Different combinations have different influences, some are fortunate and some are unfavourable.

Deep inside, we want to know how we can live in harmony with

partners/spouses/family members and off springs. Over time, it is easy to lose our natural balance. When our relationships fail or our careers stagnate we lose our bearings. When such disharmony occurs we ask “What has gone wrong? What action should we take to put the matter right?”

A Ba Zi reading helps us find that inner compass. Aligning ourselves with

decisions based on the wisdom of understanding the road map of the highways of our path through life becomes easier. We see options to create change. We begin to maximise our potential in our relationships as well as our performance in work. We learn to keep that essential balance so that our quality of life will improve.

Ba Zi can be used to evaluate relationships. By examining the

Relationship/Marriage Palace we understand the structure, compatibility, clashes, combinations and inter-relationship of these characters. Ongoing conflict, disharmony or incompatibility can be revealed. If we want to understand and maintain compatibility of two persons in a partnership we examine the sets of elements in this palace. From this assessment we learn to work at betterment of our relationships. Some are fortunate in relationships while others have to work harder at making them succeed.

Relationships between family members, friends, colleagues, potential business partners and our spouse-to-be are also viewed in the elemental forms. We analyse the interaction of the elements from one set of the four pillars. Even children’s charts are studied to help parents and off springs have a better understanding especially in choices of higher studies or career.

Our partner’s physical affection, attitude, intent and relationship towards us can be analysed. In the affairs of the heart, secret intents or the unexplainable attitude of a partner can be revealed.

talents, our potentials, our friendships, our leadership, our performance and our learning curve can be improved and maximised guided by the given information. The external world offers rich visual experiences, but introspection is the most important view of all. It enables us to see our strengths and our weaknesses when we have our personal chart analysed. If we cannot understand ourselves how can we understand others?

Our original ‘four pillars or eight characters' do not change with time or space. However during ten-year luck pillars and annual pillar in our natal chart, we receive different energies.

Each of these pillars is made up of two Characters, a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. The elements in a ten-year pillar generally govern the 10 years of our life. A Heavenly Stem can refer to five years while the Earthly Branch can refer to the next five years. The elements of an annual pillar govern 12 months of our life. The ten-year pillar and the annual pillar react with the elements of our inborn four pillars.

An assessment of the ten-year Luck Pillars helps us understand luck cycles. It allows us to make informed decisions based on forecasts of our upcoming luck cycle. These cycles influence our lives. Understanding them can lead us to make necessary changes. Even those with good destiny can go through cyclical changes.

Heaven's energy, Earth's energy has much influence but the Eight Character is not at all fatalistic because Human energy allows us to take control of our ACTIONS. The mind is most powerful when it comes to decisions. The actions we take once we understand our potential and the chronological ups and downs in our path of life is Human Luck.
