STEP #1 – Calculate Your Kua Number First
Your kua number can easily be calculated based on your date of birth and your gender. If you are unable to calculate it yourself following my directions below, then just go to www.wofs.com and enter the required data (your date of birth and gender) and it will be automatically calculated for you. So please go figure out your kua number or get your number at www.wofs.com right now.
Figuring out your kua number may sound complicated but it’s really quite easy if you just follow these simple steps:
1. Add the last two digits of your year of birth. If you get another double-digit number then add those digits together so you end up with a single number.
2. If you are a male, deduct this number from 10 and the result is your kua number. Eg: 10 – 4 = 6. Your Kua Number is “6”.
3. If you are a female, add 5 to this digit, reduce to single digit again if necessary and arrive at your kua number.
Eg: 4+5 = 9. Your Kua number is “9”.
Notes and Exceptions
1. If you are a male and born after 2000 then deduct from 9 instead of deducting from 10.
Eg: Born 2002 - Last two digits are 0+2 = 2. Then deduct from 9 (9-2 = 7) and your kua number is “7”.
2. If you are a female and born after 2000 then add to 6 instead of adding to five. Eg: Born 2004 – last two digits are 0+4 = 4. Add to 6 (4+6 = 10) and reduce to one digit (1+0 = 1) and kua number is “1”.
STEP #2 – Determine if you are an East or West Group Person East Group People: Have the Kua Numbers 1, 3, 4 and 9 West Group People: Have the Kua Numbers 2,5, 6, 7 and 8.
With this information, you now refer to the table on the next page to find your good and bad luck directions. Note that you will also benefit by living in a house that faces an east group direction if you are in the East group and in one that faces a west direction if you are in the West group.

STEP #3 – Find your Lucky and Unlucky Directions
Using the table on the next page, find your lucky and unlucky directions to customize your personal space. The Eight Mansions formula divides the house or office space into eight sectors according to one of the eight main directions of the compass and each sector represents one type of luck. So where each of these types of luck appears in the sectors of your house depends on your personal kua number. You can use this formula to determine if your bedroom or office for example has good or bad luck for you and if it is the type of luck you need (wealth, health, love etc).
STEP #4 – Applying the Formula
Now that you know your personal kua number and have checked your lucky and unlucky directions you must endeavor to sit and sleep facing your best directions and avoid facing your unlucky directions. You can fine tune this further by facing the direction that will activate the particular aspiration you are seeking… so if you are looking for love then sleep and sit facing your Nien Yen or love direction. If you are after wealth then sit and sleep facing your sheng chi direction and so on.
All you will need is a good, reliable compass to incorporate this simple formula into your daily life… and let me remind you once again that this is one of the most potent formulas that you can use for quick results. IMPORTANT NOTE:
SLEEPING:Many people get confused about how to apply this formula when sleeping. When reference is made to your facing direction while sleeping, it means the direction that your head is pointed at while laying down on the bed. So, if you want to improve your marriage or love life and your KUA number is 9 then using the previous tables you can see that your Nien Yen or love direction is NORTH. So you would sleep with your head pointed towards the NORTH.
WORKING:
If you want to improve your career luck and personal growth for example, and your KUA number is 6 then using the previous reference tables you can see that your personal growth direction or Fu Wei direction is NORTHWEST, so you should sit with your chair and body facing NORTHWEST.
