The strategy for e-navigation

(Oprindelig vision defineret i IMO MSC 85-26-Add.1)

A communication infrastructure providing authorized

seamless information transfer on board ships, between ships, between ship and shore and between shore authorities and other parties with many related benefits.

(14)

The Maritime Cloud - explained

All actors in e-navigation will obtain a

Maritime Identity

(certificate),

in the Maritime Identity Registry – similar to obtaining a callsign or MMSI

Building on well known technologies for authenticity, integrity and

confidentiality, it provides a level of trust in exchange of sensitive data

(15)

The Maritime Cloud - explained

Actors providing information services will announce their information service

in the Maritime Service Portfolio Registry

Access to information may be restricted to authorized users only

(16)

The Maritime Cloud - explained

Actors connect regularly to a Maritime Messaging Server (MMS) inside the

‘Maritime Cloud’, maintaining system awareness of

– Geographical location of mobile actors – Which datalink is currently active

The ALMANAC

Offline version of public part of ‘Maritime Identity

Registry’ and ‘Maritime Service Portfolio Registry ‘

Can be downloaded as a ‘white pages / yellow pages’

phonebook – describes public, static information such

as contact information, and which information services

each actor provides.

Ramme for projektdannelse

‘Embryonic e-navigation’ – levere bedre informations
