If a student choses to withdraw from an Allied Health noncredit course, they will be given a full refund, minus registration fees, up until the second scheduled course. Students will have until end of business day on the Monday following the second scheduled course to request a refund. Any materials included in the cost of the class, must be returned upon deregistration, or no refund will be issued. No refunds are given for the fees associated with criminal background checks, drug testing, liability insurance, uniforms, and/or health maintenance requirements.

in recent years the demand for healthcare professionals has rapidly increased, especially in the State of New Jersey. Th ere are tremendous shortages of trained healthcare professionals. As a result, Allied Health disciplines are among the fastest growing occupations. Our courses prepare students for employment opportunities in a variety of areas. Classes are off ered year-round, days, eve-nings and weekends. Classes can also be customized to fi t the needs of your organization or company.

HP114 Home-Maker Home Health Aide 10-hour Module

Th is course is approved by Th e New Jersey Board of Nursing which works in conjunction with the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services Certifi ed Nurse Aide Licensure. Students who have already been certifi ed as a Nurse Aide are able to sit for 10 hours of the Home-Maker Home Health Aide Module V for dual certifi cation. Th e course allows you to sit for the NJ Board of Nursing competency evaluation for HHHA licensure exam. Prerequisites: Students must provide a copy of current Certifi ed Nurse Aide licensure in the State of New Jersey.

HP 117 Yoga Instructor Certifi cation Upon successful completion of this course you will be certifi ed to teach Adult Beginner Classic Hatha Yoga. Experience professional development, personal transformation, and increase your marketability in the fi tness fi eld. Th is course is off ered in conjunction with Th e School of Royal Yoga. Th e 9-Month Course meets for 3-hour classes, 3 times a month; the 6-month Intensive Course meets 3 weekends, with weekly 90-minute Skype or telephone conferences in between. “Weigh Less, Live More”, is a class that has a little something for everyone. Th is class will discuss food choices that will be both healthy and satisfying, along with ways to eat that will help sustain energy. It will cover ways to integrate exercise and movement into a busy schedule. Th is class will also speak to “Primary Foods”, including relationships, spirituality and enjoyment. HP 212 ECG Technician National Certifi cation

Become certifi ed in one of the most in-demand occupations. Obtaining an electrocardio-gram (ECG) is oft en an important part of a medical workup. A properly recorded ECG may be critical in determining the proper care for a patient. Th is 40-hour course prepares indi-viduals to function as an ECG Technician in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, physician’s offi ces, clinics, sport medicine facilities, nursing homes, and insurance compa-nies. Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to sit for the ECG Cer-tifying exam given by American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) National exam. HP 311 Pharmacy Technician

Become certifi ed in one of the most in-demand healthcare occupations today. Th is com-prehensive 90-hour course is designed to provide hands-on training to individuals who seek a career as a Pharmacy Technician (PT). Th e course involves 50-hours of classroom in-struction, question/answer review, exams, plus 40-hours of practical experience in a phar-macy. Th e practical experience will be scheduled at the beginning of the course and must be completed by the last day of class. Students are required to locate participating pharmacy for practical hours. Th is course is designed to enable students to successfully complete the National Pharmacy Technician Certifi cation Board (PTCB) exam. Instructions and forms

HP 411 Phlebotomy Lab Assistant

Phlebotomists are integral members of the laboratory team who are trained in specimen collection and processing. Th is 180-hour course consists of lecture, lab, and clinical prac-tice and prepares students to seek employment as a phlebotomist in hospitals, outpatient clinics, medical practices, and insurance companies. Th e course consists of 100-hours of classroom instruction and 80-hours of clinical practice at a hospital. Th e clinical practice will run during daytime/weekday hours and will be assigned at the end of the fi rst month of the class. Please make sure you are available for at least one week during the daytime for the clinical experience. Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to sit for the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) National Certifi cation Exam, which will be held at RVCC. HP 500 CRA/CRC National Exam Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) Eligibility criteria to take exam requires applicant to have: 1. Two years of experience as a full-time Clinical Research Professional OR 2. Hold a degree in “Clinical Research” from an Associate, Undergraduate, or Graduate Degree Program, AND have completed a minimum of one year of full-time experience OR 3. HP 511 Clinical Research Associate (CRA) & Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Th e demand for qualifi ed and trained clinical research professionals continues to grow. Th is course can open doors to new and exciting career opportunities in the clinical research fi eld. Th is course will provide a detailed overview of the key aspects of preparing for a career in the management of clinical trials. Th e course is appropriate for those who wish

to build a knowledge base to pursue a career as a clinical research associate (CRA) repre-senting a pharmaceutical sponsor, Contract Research Organization (CRO), or as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) in a physician-investigator’s offi ce/clinic. HP 611 Dental Radiology Th is course prepares students for the licensing examination required by the State of New Jersey Dental Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners. Th is course consists of 35-hours of didactic instruction, 20-hours* of laboratory instruction in a dental offi ce, and clinical education. Upon successful completion of the didactic and laboratory instruction course, the clinical portion will be obtained through patient experience in a private dental offi ce that has been identifi ed by the student and approved by the NJ State Department of Environmental Protection. HP 612 Dental Assisting National Board Prep

Th is course is designed to provide dental assistants who have busy schedules with the essential materials to prepare at home for the Dental Assisting National Board examina-tions. Th is course concentrates on specifi c topics covered in the examination.

Prerequisite for course: 18 years of age, proof of a High School Diploma/GED or equiva-lent, CPR certifi cation, and minimum of one year work experience in a dental practice. Proof must be submitted with registration.

Prerequisite for Dental Assisting National Board Examinations: 18 years of age, High School Graduate or equivalent, a minimum of 3,500 hours work experience as a dental assistant that is accrued over a continuous period and is verifi ed by doctor/employer, and CPR certifi cation.

We’ll discuss the various stages of health and illness, and you’ll dis-cover that true health means wholeness of the mind, body, and spirit. We’ll also explore naturopathy, which seeks ways for the body to heal itself. You’ll fi nd out about proper breathing techniques that enhance health, and you’ll learn the value of hydrotherapy, diet, biorhythms, and fasting. HP 813 HIPAA Compliance

Demystify the complexities of HIPAA, and the new ARRA/HITECH rules! If you’re a health care professional, it’s mandatory that you know the ins and outs of HIPAA compliance. Th is course focuses on the Administrative Simplifi cation portion of HIPAA. We’ll cover transactions, code sets, and identifi ers; the Privacy Rule; and the Security Rule. In addition, this course has been upgraded to include the new 2010 ARRA/HITECH provisions, which include the use of new transactions and code sets, new standards for the electronic transmission of health insurance data, and updates to the breach notifi cation rules. Medical Assistant Certifi cate Program

Th e Medical Assistant Certifi cate program trains students to work in doctor’s offi ces and other ambulatory care facilities under the supervision of a physician or offi ce manager. Graduates will be able to sit for the Certifi ed Medical Assistant (CMA) exam off ered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) and the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam off ered by the American Medical Technologists.
