Since January 2012 – Consultant at Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia – CRIA (FCSH/UNL) [Anthropology Research Center] for the identification and delimitation of land use and occupation parcels in the region of Cantanhez (Guinea-Bissau), obtained through a GPS receiver and inserted in a Geographic Information System (visualised also in the software Google Earth);

1 IHRU is a public body within the Ministry of Agriculture, Sea, Environment and Spatial Planning. In the year of 2007 IHRU receive the SIPA from the former Direcção-Geral dos Edifícios e Monumentos Nacionais - DGEMN [General-Directorate of National Building and Monument Sites]. SIPA contains a number of interoperational databases and Geographic Information Systems, providing structured information on the architectural, documentary and symbolic value of buildings, urban settlements and cultural landscape. By sharing its website (www.monumentos.pt), which was number one in 2003 for the Best Practices in Public Administration award, SIPA promotes the physical and intellectual access of all the citizens to their heritage assets.

2AML is a public collective entity that assumes the juridical form of an association of territorial scope whose objective lies in the pursuit of the common public interests

of its member municipalities (18 City Authorities). AML was responsible for setting up the “Sistema Metropolitano de Informação Geográfica” – SMIG [Metropolitan Geographic Information System], which introduced an entirely new approach to economic, environmental and social issues in the whole region and provided new tools for land use management to all the City Authorities. The SMIG also led to the production of several publications (which can be consulted in its website: www.aml.pt), including an Atlas of the Metropolitan Area, which was based on information contained in the SMIG in areas as diverse as Infrastructure, Transports and Accessibility, Metropolitan Territorial Structures, Physical Geography and Environment, Economic Activities, Tourism, Leisure and Recreation, Culture, Population, Housing, Historical Background, etc.
