The purpose of this study is to determine if a cultural competency seminar has an effect on the cultural competency level and transcultural teaching behaviors of nurse educators
Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) core competencies (2008)
Institute of Medicine (IOM) quality standards Affordable Care Act healthcare delivery and payment reforms
Recognizing, respecting, and responding to patients’ individualities

competence level and transcultural teaching behaviors
• Revise a current learning objective using a
Competency Outcomes Performance Assessment (COPA) model template

Project importance: interventions, such as a cultural competency seminar will increase the cultural competency level and transcultural teaching behaviors of nurse educators. This
will enable them to prepare nursing students to provide safe and quality care for patients with cultural, racial, ethnic, and socially diverse
needs.
