HISTORY

The Vapormatra - Ecoforest group of companies was founded in Vigo in 1959 by José Carlos Alonso Martínez. After travelling to New York in 1958 for the first multi-sector world fair, he began his career trading in steam boilers, burners and heating products.

During the seventies, thanks to that entrepreneurial spirit and a good com-mercial acumen, he visited the sector’s most important international fairs to provide his home market with all the latest developments. Thus, the first biomass boiler was created using wood chips. Thus, the Vapormatra-Ecofo-rest group were the first to show an inteVapormatra-Ecofo-rest in ecology and fuel economics. Determined to continue adding value to the market, in 1933, he embar-ked on a new business challenge: to provide the market with a product that was new, environmentally-friendly and, above all, economical. So, he created the first pellet factory in Villacañas (Toledo) and presented his new invention to the European market: THE FIRST PELLET BOILER Nowadays, Ecoforest is the market leader, with the widest range of air and canalized air heaters, and water heaters and boilers, trading in over 20 different countries. Its commitment to and continued reinvestment in R & D & i is still one of the pillars behind the company’s success.

STORIA

Il gruppo aziendale Vapormatra - Ecoforest nasce in Vigo nel 1959 per inizia-tiva del suo proprietario e fondatore José Carlos Alonso Martínez. Dopo aver viaggiato a New York nel 1958 in occasione della prima fiera mondiale mul-ti-settoriale, inizia la sua carriera professionale commercializzando caldaie a vapore, bruciatori e prodotti del settore del riscaldamento.

Negli anni ‘70, grazie a questo spirito intraprendente e a un enorme senso commerciale, visita le fiere internazionali più importanti del settore al fine di apportare al mercato nazionale tutte le novità e i progressi del momento. Così facendo riuscì a creare la prima caldaia di biomassa a forma di scheggia di legno. In questo modo il gruppo Vapormatra-Ecofo-rest fu il primo a dimostrare il suo interesse per l’ecologia e l’economia del combustibile.

Fedele a questo impegno di continuare ad apportare valore al mercato, nel 1993 si lancia una nuova sfida professionale: apportare al mercato un pro-dotto innovativo, ecologico e, soprattutto, economico. A tal pro crea la prima fabbrica di pellet in Villacañas (Toledo) e introduce nel mercato europeo la sua nuova invenzione: LA PRIMA STUFA-CALDAIA A PELLET.

Attualmente Ecoforest è l’impresa leader del mercato con la più amplia gam-ma di stufe ad aria, aria canalizzabile, stufe e caldaie ad acqua, presente

Ecoforest has become a benchmark manufacturer within the heating and air-conditioning sector thanks to a strong commitment to tech-nology and investment in R & D and i. Also contributing to this has been a differentiated geographical strategy, customer diversification, and the strengthening of project teams through the development of different products.

Nowadays, the main challenge faced by the temperature control sector is the efficient use of the resources provided by Mother Nature, as well as the integration of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) platforms into the products.
