Main window
-Main menuFile. All phone-calls are report. Is possible to check phone calls that were made since the application began or since a new operator started or all phone-calls made in a whole day.
Management. Each phone-call is assigned to a operator who manage the system.
Fares. List or all possible destinations a fares destination. To consult, edit and add from a Set up. up of the application functions and set up of all different Destel hardware types
-General information in on the main window
Connection indicator. Green color means means a goon connection with Destel hardware. Red color means no connection with hardware ( hardware power off, disconnected cable , unable to open PC serial port occupied), any other color means that there is connection buy there are communication errors
Phone call serial. Each phone call done increases this number. This is an unique number for a phone call and will be record in the file of phone calls. This number can be also printed in the ticket
Total calls. Number of phone-calls that were made while the same operator was working. Total $ Total amount f money for that those phone-calls
-Monitor of a cabin
In the main window we can a monitor for each cabin present in the system. is represented in
- Cabin number. Number that represent the physical cabin
- Fare type on cabin reminds the kind of fare that was selected (from the three available) on user option
- Lock button connects and disconnects the phone-line of a cabin. It is possible to lock a cabin either if phone is hooked or if a call is active. In this case the
phone-call will be terminated and phone-call-length for that phone-phone-call will be the time passed till lock button was pressed. - Ticket button. If printing mode was selected as non-automatic, This button will appear each time a phone-call was completed. Further phone-phone-calls will be accumulated. When ticket button is click ed a singled ticked will be printed with th information of all phone-calls accumulated and the button will disappear.
- Status Icon. represents the communication status of cabin's the phone-line (on hook, dialing, connecting, talking). Optionally each status cab be distinguish with a color in the user options
- Dialed number. The number that the client dials in the cabin.
- Destination & fare If prefix of dialed number is found in prefix tables, the name and fare code for that prefix are shown. If the code of the fare is negative, it wasn´t found a fare for that number. Check prefixes and fares tables.
- Call time & cost. When a phone-call is running here is the information of its time and and its cost
- Total calls & total cost. When non-automatic mode printing is selected each phone-call is add to a list of pending calls to be printed. Here is the information of how many they are and how much they represents
Last phone-calls
On this window are displayed the last phone-calls made with their related information. The last phone-call is on the top of the list
It's possible to reprint a ticket of an specific phone-call any time.
Also it is possible to annul a phone-call. The record of the phone call will not be deleted from the table but only marked. The annulment only has effect on the total amount assigned to the current operator.
Management
There is a list of operator for the system. This list can be edited (append, delete, modify).
Only one operator can be active at the same time and can be selected any time. Each phone-call is assigned to the active operator. When the active operator is changed, the total calls and total money assigned to the previous operator is saved and eventually a brief report printed. The total calls and money for the new active operator are reseted
Setting-up prefix and rates.
There are two groups of call destinations in order to assign a rate. International :
Numbers that first digits are the same as the “international prefix” . By default international prefix is “00”, but you are able to change it.
Non – international:
Local, cellular and any other number.
You are able to add or delete prefix in prefix-table on the left using keys “Insert” or “Supr” on the computer keyboard. Each prefix has related a brief description (such as the name of the Country) a a code that represents the prefix rate.
For instance:
Number dialed: 001204667788 (= 00 – 1204 – 667788= 00 ----> international prefix
1403 prefix for “Canada” -> fare code = 12
We can see the price for 12 fare in the table on the right: -Price/ min = 0,10 $
-interval = 60 seconds -Initial charge = 0 $
We can modify this values clicking
You are to use up up to three different prices for the same code-fare. The final price depends on the type (A, B, C) selected for each cabin in “Set up/ Option” menu item.
The fares table is the same for international and non-international prefix
NOTE: If the prefix of a dialed number doesn’t exist in international nor non-international prefixes, the fare applied to that number will be fare code 0 (the first fare in the table)
Importing prefixes and prices from Spreadsheet
You are able to import a full table of prefixes and prices from an spreadsheet and add it to LOCUWIN software.
The spreadsheet file must have next record format. A Column = Destination
B Column = Prefix.
C Column = Price / minute. To import follow this steps.
1. Select the table of prefixes you want to change. (international or non-international) 2. Select the interval (usually 60 seconds)
3. Select a Price-up in % (profit)
4. Click “Open” and select the valid '.xls' file you want to import. Then it will appear the new prices.
Verify that all is OK and click “Ok” button.
Important: All previous prefixes in the chosen table (international or non-international) will be lost.
Printer
On this section it is defined how to work with the ticket-printer and what text should be printed Use printer: It must be checked if there is a ticket-print in the system and we want to print tickets Mode: The printing mode can be:
Automatic When a phone-call has finished a new ticket will be printed for the phone-call
Non-Automatic When a phone-call finish it is saved and added to a list of phone-calls waiting to be printed. Each cabin has its own list of waiting phone-calls to be printed. When a cabin has pending tickets will be appear in its monitor on main windows a button and information the total made phone-calls and its cost: Operator can click that button any time and a single ticket will be printed with the information of all pending phone-calls for that cabin.
Print to LPT1 printer. Software will send the ticket directly to th parallel port in case no printer is installed in the system. If the printer has any problem ( off line, switched off. No paper) the ticket will not be printed. Print to windows printer. If a printer is installed on the system (with its specific driver or text generic driver) software will send the ticket to the windows printers spoiler
The text for the can be edit freely. Type wished the literal text and selected the appropriate field by the escape sequences %. Click button Preview/Edit to see the final result. A ticket has this structure A head. It be printed first once. Typically here it is written generic information like Cabin, Date, etc.
A body. Its printed so many times as many phone-calls should be related in the same ticket. Typically here it is written information of a particular phone -call such as Telephone, Destination (To), Call length, Cost, etc A button. Its printed once when all bodies are printed. Typically here it is written information of all the phone calls. Total cost, taxes,
cabinetworks
ticket nº 000001 Phone number 914461341 to Madrid time 1:18______1,06 $ ============================== TOTAL 1,06 $
Messages to displays
All messages to displays into the cabin can be edited. It is possible to edit the literal text as well the field to be displayed. Beware the 16 character is the maximum for a line in the display
Message on display depends on the status of the phone-call and there are five deferents status: -On hook. The phone is hooked and there wasn't any complete phone-call before
-Dialing Client hanged up and is dialing a phone-number. Typically the display must show an invitation to dial and the number
-Waiting The phone-number has been completely dialed but connection has not been begun yet -Talking. Connection begins. Typically the display must show conversation time, cost or both
-On hook after talking. A phone-call ends and the phone is hooked. Typically displays must show information about last call if the system is in automatic printing mode or information about the total of all phone-calls if non-automatic is selected.
User options
Cabin fares On table of cabins its possible to select the type of fare that will be applied to a cabin (three available : A,B, C; see setting up prefix and rates for more information)
Personal info on reports. This text will be appear at the top of any exportation report made by Locuwin. Show total amount If checked it will be shown the total amount of cash for the current operator
Lock unknown prefix. If a dialed number is not found in the prefix tables the call will be aborted. If not checked the fare with 0 code will applied to the dialed number with an unknown prefix
60 seconds timeout dialing. If checked , the phone line will be locked and unlocked, if the line if on dialing status for more than 60 seconds
Font size. Size of font used on cabin's monitors
Use color. If checked, color of cabin's monitor will change according to the status of the line in the cabin. A personal color can be define by clicking on the color.
Change user-password. User-password is used to prevent changes on prefix and fares. By default this password is null but can be changed.
- Set up hardware locutel
To install and configurate a Destel server-router is necessary to fill the appropriate information on this topics. General parameters
Routing Programs Line parameters
After all configuration is done as desired all data should be download to the server-router, so click Download button to send the information. Clicking OK button (without downloading) configuration information is save into a file on hard disk but the server-router is not actualized. Its possible to download the information later.
General parameters
Serial Port. Select a free serial port In the PC to connect the Server-router. If a server-router is nor present but other DESTEL hardware select NO.
Fast refresh. Mode to send data to displays. On Windows XP operative system may be advisable to check this option
Lines Total lines that manage the server-router. Normally is the same number as cabins if server-router is the only hardware present.
Time to lock If communication fails for more than X seconds, the server-router lock all its lines in order to phone -calls cannot be made.
Hook time Minimum time to detect the line is hooked (default 300 ms) Unhook time Minimum time to detect the line is unhooked (default 200 ms) DTMF length Time that a DTMF active on the line. (60 - 120)
DTMF interval. Time that a silence is active between two DTMF, typically the same value that DMTF length Pause time ',' Time of silence for ',' code.
Maximum inter digit time interval Timeout to consider that a number has been completely dialed when digits of the number are less than Minimum digits specified for that routing
Minimum inter digit time interval Timeout to consider that a number has been completely dialed when digits of the number are more than Minimum digits specified for that routing
Threshold. If the quality of the phone-lines is not good , it's possible to check threshold to improve
- Set up Display Plus-Lite To configure displays Click:
Serial port Set-up
Select the serial port of your computer to plug DATA-BUS.
Check selected port is not used by other application or other modules of LOCUWIN, such as
Parameters of a Server voice or Displays P4 (verify “NO” is selected in the serial port input in those modules). Display ID Set-up
Key in the number of displays on your installation. Click
Right hand table will show displays working displays. Each display will have to have the same ID than the cabin. No two or more displays can have the same ID.
If a display does not shows OK status in the table a) Check display connection
b) Check display ID. Each display must have an unique ID. You are able to reassign display ID in two different ways:
1.- Reassigning a new ID to a displays with known ID a) Connect just a single display alone.
b) Select the old display ID on {Display}window. c) Select the new display ID on {New} window. d) On the computer click
2.- Using phone connected to display.
1.- Plug, data cable, phone and phone line to display. 2.- On the computer click
3.- All displays are now waiting the new ID. 4.- Dial on connected phone.
on the phone connected to the display you want to change. NN will become the new ID. For example dial
and display ID will change to 8. a) Reset all displays. Click

Numbering using phone Change
Each display must be reset, after assign a new ID, to become operative with the new ID. The display will keep the new ID even after powered off.
Set up Routing
The routing table can have up to 240 deferents routings. To Add, delete or editing routings simply type directly in the table. Routing table can order by any field. Just click on the name of the field wished. Each row in the table represent a different routing and have this fields:
Name. A description for the routing. It is useful to remember the destination of prefix. This field is not strictly necessary
Prefix. First digits (up to 5) of a number for finding the correct routing.
MIN (01-32). Minimum length in digits that a phone-number for that routing must have. The program associate with a routing will not be executed until dialed digits are equal or more than Min for that routing
MAX (01-32). Maximum length in digits that a phone-number for that routing can have. NOTE: these fields Min, and Max are used to optimize time to access to the phone line without false dialing
Program (00-15). Program number that server-router will execute for the prefix on the row. Routing table example
On figure we can see the routing-table is order by program field. We can distinguish four groups of destinations
Numbers beginning with 9 , 6 or 8.(corresponding to NATIONAL. MOBILES y LOCAL) All these number will be routed using program 1. For these number we know that the total ciphers a 9 , so MIN and MAX
must be 9
Numbers beginning with 00 (corresponding to INTERNATIONAL) (all international destinations) will be routing using program 2. For these number we know that the total ciphers must be between 12 and 18 , so MIN must be 12 and MAX must be 18
Number beginning with 00351 (corresponding to Portugal) will be routed with program 3. Note that numbers beginning with 00351 are numbers that begin with 00 as well. But program 2 will not be used because there is a more specific record in the routing table
Numbers beginning with 1,2,3,4,5,7,90, * or # (prohibited destinations) will be routed using program 4 Any other possible number (for instance '01') don't have assigned program. So those number won´t be
routed
Programs
On this section are defined up to 15 different programs that will be used by a routing. To edit a program
1 Select the wished program
2 Insert, add , delete, o modify instructions for that program by typing on table of instruction (use Ins, Sup, Ý, ß, ¿)
3. Complete additional information in other tables (Switch, Carrier, Line parameters) that can be used by any program.
A program is a list of commands that server-router will execute when a dialing number has assigned an specific routing.
There are some instructions than can make specific task depending on the line (cabin) in which the number is dialing
PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONS SET
0 Dial access number. Dial the number of a carrier indicated in field Value. 1 Dial Literal. Dial the specific digit expressed in value.
2 Dial entry number. Dial to the line the number that has been dialed on th phone. 3 Dial line code. Dial a specific number for the line that is define in Line Parameters
4 Wait # tenth of seconds. Make a pause than longs as many tenth-seconds indicated in Value 5 Wait # seconds. Make a pause than longs as many tenth-seconds indicated in Value
6 Wait entry number. Wait until the number has been completely dialed according to the fields Min and Max
7 Wait line reversal. Wait until a reverse polarity has been detected. If reverse is detected within the seconds specified in value the server router skip the next instruction in the program and continues. If not, it will be executed the next instruction, typically an instruction of calling to another program.. 8 Loop link # . After all instructions executed by the serve-router it must be to connect the phone in the
cabin to the line. Depending on value this connection will occur when; value Connexion will be maid when
0 there is a reverse polarity
*, # when * or # is dialed on the phone A, B, C, D When carrier sens this character 1. 9 when any of the occur
9 Skip # digits in entry number. The first digits indicated in value of the number to send to the line will not be send to the line
A Jump to another program. The current program stop and the new program specified in value begins B Flash line Send a flash to the line.
C Turn to switch. Select alterative lines if they are present and the server-router has the appropriate hardware
D Program select. Just like A Jump to another program but the program to execute depends on each line as defined in Line Parameters
E No operation. No effect. F End of program
Example program 1.
This a very simple example. The entry number is directly dialed to the line. So there is no routing
Then the phone-call starts to count when a a reverse line is detected.
Example of program 2.
The number of the first carrier on the list of carriers (and named “Node”) is send to the line.
Then the entry number is send to the line.
Then router is waiting till user dial '*' on the phone. When '*'' is dialed the phone-call starts
Example
program of 3.
This example shows how to rout phone-calls to a carrier and use other carrier if the first one is occupied
1. The number of the second carrier on the list of carriers (and named “Telecom”) is send to the line.
2. -Wait 3 seconds for the carrier 'Node' to respond 3. If carrier Node doesn't respond, the current program is aborted and program- 5 will be executed. Program 5 should be edited to do the appropriate action when carrier 'Node' does´t respond.
4. Wait unconditionally 2 seconds. (so carrier 'Node' could receive next)
5. - Dial the entry number. 6. - Dial '#'.-
7. - Restablece la conexión entre el teléfono y la línea para que se pueda iniciar la conversación después de recibir del nodo el tono C, que indica que la llamada ha sido descolgada al otro lado.. Example
program of 4.
This program makes that there is no possible communication. This can be used to prohibit destination. 1. The number of the filth carrier on the list of carriers (and named “No allow”) is send to the line .If that number is and impossible number for the local carrier the client on the cabin can hear an error message destination
