INFORMATIVE

Military Forces will be responsible for the safety of the event, along with Military and Civil Police of Rio, which will have a

extra contingent of 3.000 police officers per day, working in the security scheme.

The Eastern Military Command (

CML

) will activate, starting June 5

th

, a Coordination Center of Security Operations, which will

meet representatives of the three Military Forces and of all security agencies on federal, state and city levers to work in the

operations of Rio+20.

Furthermore, the Military Police will have command posts at Riocentro, Aterro do Flamengo, Quinta da Boa Vista and

Píer Mauá. On the other hand, the Civil Police will assemble temporary police stations in Aterro do Flamengo and Quinta da

Boa Vista.

It is highlighted that the event will feature an area

called

“Cúpula dos Povos” (“

Summit of the People

”), which

will occupy part of Aterro do Flamengo and, according

estimate, will concentrate around 50 thousand people.

On these occasions there is always risk of riots,

robberies and thefts. In this sense, we suggest that our

clients and employees adopt the following security

measures:

UMAI

07

Do not go to the event by car, preferentially, you should use public transport (

bus, subway, train or taxis

);

• Avoid going to the event alone, because you will be more vulnerable to the action of criminals, both on public transport as in your own

vehicle;

• Arriving at the event, memorize the emergency exits, chemical toilets and medical facilities;

• Have all your personal belongings in front of your body (

wallet, cell phones, purses, bags, etc

.);

• Take only the necessary amount of money with you, to cover costs of transport and food;

• Avoid wearing jewelry or other valuable objects;

• If you are bringing children, identify them with name, contact phone number, address and name of the responsible;

Select a place to meet again for the case of separations, if the problem persists ask for assistance of a Police officer or event security. A

good option is to ask to be announced over the sound system;

• Be suspicious of bumping or jostling. After a bump, immediately check if all belongings are with you;

• Walk with confidence, do not show to be lost, because this behavior can be the first step to become a victim;

• Be aware of people around you;

• Be friendly, if you are being bothered try another location or ask help from the security of the event;

• Avoid discussions. Apologize and move away;

• In case you are victim of any criminal act do not react and immediately contact the Police, informing the characteristic(s) of person(s)

with a brief statement of what occurred and the direction taken by the criminal(s);
