Viewing Holds
The hold is added to a student’s account where there are outstanding fees or when the fee account has been handed over to attorneys for collection.
Path: Student Center
• Click Green Arrow to expand the Holds view indicator
You have now viewed holds in PeopleSoft.
View To Do list
To do lists are documents required from an applicant/ student for submission to the relevant Administration department/faculty.
• Click the Green Arrow to expand the To Do List view indicator
• Click details hyperlink
• Click To Do item hyperlink to view their details
You have viewed your to do list items and their details in PeopleSoft. You will be required to update your to do lists as per instruction in your To Do List item.
Viewing your weekly schedule, search for classes and Search
Your weekly schedule will enable you to view for all courses for which you have enrolled for the current term. There are two ways to you can view your weekly schedule:
• On your Student center page
• By clicking the dropdown list box that reads as “other Academic”

• Select “Class Schedule” in the drop down listbox
• Click Go
• Click Term
You will be required to select the term you wish to view
• Click Continue
Viewing your Weekly Schedule automatically defaults to . The following page shows an example of the Weekly calendar view.
• Click Display option in the Select Display Option button
• Select Week in the Show Week calendar textbox
• Click refresh calendar
The refresh calendar button will refresh your display based on the date entered.
Search for Classes
The search for classes functionality enables you to view the course schedule to know when the class starts and on which day it has been scheduled.
• Select Term in the Term drop down list box
• Enter Subject in the Course Subject text box
• Select Course Number in the Course Number text box
• Tick Show open Classes Only check box
• Click Search
The search returns every first semester course offered by the Psychology department in 2010.
You have viewed your Psychology first semester course catalogue for 2010 in PeopleSoft.
Viewing Enrolments
The Enrolment functionality enables you to view the courses that you have enrolled onto and the majors/specialisations in the program you are registered for in the current term.
Path: Student Center>Enroll
• Click Enroll hyperlink
• Tick Show Enrolled Classes checkbox only
• Click Filter button
Viewing Student Fee Account Summaries
The student fee account summary enables you to view the transactions that took place on your account whether there is a debit or a credit or where funding has been granted to you by an External Bursar or internal Bursar.
A student with an outstanding balance that has been handed over to the attorney will not be able to access their fee account and their academic results.

Click View Account Detail hyperlinkViewing and updating student bank account details
The banking details hyperlink enables you to update your banking details.
Students who require assistance with updating their banking details can email the
[email protected] , with the details of the problem encountered.

• Click Banking Detailhyperlink
• Click Accept
• Enter Bank Name in the Bank Name lookup
If you are unsure of your bank name, click the Look up icon, then click the button again. PeopleSoft will display Search Results page where you will have to choose the suitable bank name. Click on the bank name that is yours and it will automatically return to the Bank Account Details page with the Bank Name edit field filled in with the bank name you have selected.
• Enter Branch ID in the Branch ID lookup
If you are unsure of your branch Id, click Look up icon, then the button. PeopleSoft will display a Search Results listing branch ID’s for the Bank name you provided. Click on the branch ID that is yours and it will automatically return to the bank account details page with the
Branch ID edit field filled in with the branch ID you selected.
• Enter Account Number in the Account # text box
• Select Status in the Status drop down list box
• Click Account type in the Account type option button

Click SaveClicking the
button displays a Save Confirmation screen. If all the banking details are correct click the button.Affiliation in Clubs and Societies at UCT.
The Clubs and Societies online registration functionality enables registered students to subscribe to UCT clubs and societies at a subscription rate regulated for each Club and Society. Students can join one or more clubs and societies. The online registration functionality does NOT allow Semester Study Abroad students to register online. Semester Study Abroad students can ONLY view their membership subscriptions. Financial Aid students will be responsible for all subscription charges that exceed R500.
Registered students CANNOT re-register after they have clicked on the Submit button and must contact the appropriate Club and Society for additional subscriptions. All subscriptions will be charged on the student fee account.
The set time frame for the online registration to students for Clubs and Societies is from the 1st of February to the 30th of April of each year.

• Click Clubs and Societies hyperlink
Read the Terms and Conditions carefully
• Click Accept button
• Select Club/Society in the Clubs/Society dropdown list box
You will be required to search by the organisation type, i.e. whether it is a Society or Sports club. PeopleSoft will display all sport clubs and societies at UCT.
• Select Club/Society from the search result page
To add a new row, click the plus button. To delete a row you must click the minus button.
The total fee/cost that will be charged will be displayed to you before you can submit your registration.

Click SubmitStudents will not be able to signup online to additional clubs or societies once the Submit button has been clicked. You will get the following screen if you try to add a club and society after you have clicked the submit button.
