The Responsorial Psalm for this Sunday is taken from Psalm 145. The beautiful responsory, “The hand of the Lord feeds us; He answers all our needs”,is the truth if we look into our lives and reflect about the goodness of our God. Despite what we all experience today, God is still blessing us with life, with hope, and with love, and we can share these experiences with our sisters and brothers. Nothing can separate us from the love of God which comes to us in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Jesus manifests Himself as the one who is capable of satisfying forever the hunger of our hearts. Let us be for others the instruments of Jesus’ compassion and mercy.

Baptism
Baptisms are every first Saturday of the month at 10am, or every third Sunday of the month within the celebration of the Eucharist. Contact the Parish Of-fice for more information on the Baptismal process.
Eucharist
The Eucharist, or Mass, is celebrated every day. For those who wish to receive it for the first time, please contact the Parish Faith Formation Office for more information on the catechetical process.
Confirmation
Receiving this sacrament completes the Initiation in the Church. It is celebrated with the Bishop once a year. Contact the Parish Faith Formation Office for information on the catechetical process.
Reconciliation
Reconciliation is every Saturday at 4pm, or by ap-pointment. This celebration of God’s merciful love must be an incessant celebration for us.
Anointing of the sick
Anointings are every second Saturday of the even months at 8am, or by appointment. Contact the Par-ish Office for information on receiving the sacra-ment.
Holy orders
This gift of vocation to the priesthood and religious life is nourished in the family and sustained by the parish community. Contact the Parish priests for inquiries.
Marriage
This gift of vocation in creating the domestic Church is a life long process. Contact the Parish Office at least six months prior to the proposed date and for information on the wedding process.
Mass schedule
Our regular Parish Mass schedule is currently sus-pended due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Following the directives of the Santa Clara County Health De-partment and the Bishop of the Diocese of San Jose in California, outdoor public worship in groups no larger than 60 persons is permitted. Our Mass schedule for the moment is as follows:

Every year during this time, the Church in the Unit-ed States (through the Missionary Cooperative Pro-gram) welcomes missionaries from around the world to make an appeal, and share the work and ministry that they have been doing with our broth-ers and sistbroth-ers. Even during this time of the pan-demic, we did not close our doors to those in need. It is the more that they need us, and it is our way of being the heart of Jesus for them.
I would like to thank those who have already given their donation to our Mission Appeal second collec-tion. It is not too late to share monetarily what you have, and be “the hand of the Lord” for others. I would like to share with you the ministry of Fr. Gil-bert Omolo, a Passionist Priest working in Kenya. The Appeal Letter can be found in this bulletin.
Dear Christians greetings from Kenya. I am Fr. Gilbert Omolo, a Passionist priest from Kenya. I am ad-dressing this letter to you today through the kindness of Bishop Oscar Cantu, Rev. Hao Dinh the Vicar Gen-eral and of your pastors Rev. Jeff Fernandez Queen of Apostle Parish and Rev. Joe Galang St. Frances Cabrini Parish. I am writing to share with you my mission story from Kenya and to offer you the opportuni-ty to join me in solidariopportuni-ty with the suffering people of that land.
Passionist Fathers Kenya was founded in 1970 by Passionist missionaries from Italy. These missionaries have retired and went back to Italy, and majority of them have gone back to God. The Passionist Missionar-ies goal is to promote the memory of the Passion of Jesus Christ by witnessing and preaching to the suffer-ings of our time (the neglected ones, orphans and widows). Through our projects in Kenya, we are able to evangelize and promote integral human development. Our projects involve programs and activities that alle-viate poverty, foster social justice, and economic empowerment of the communities we serve.
We have 40 seminarians to educate and prepare for mission. We run two orphanages with 70 orphans. We support poor widows in our missions, and we run tailoring and carpentry school for orphans and children from poor families . We organize and preach retreats for both religious and lay Faithful. We no longer re-ceive any financial help from our brothers in Italy. The support we can get from you will continue our mis-sion that brings a positive change in people's daily lives, and the hope for a better tomorrow.
As a young boy I met the Passionist missionaries in my village that brought us the message of the Passion of Jesus Christ. They reached the remotest part of Kenya. With their work they attracted many. As a young boy I said I wanted to be a priest. I was told that to be a missionary, I must go to school. This part was not easy. It wasn't easy because I did not have materials to go to school—school uniform, note books and pen-cil. One day I missed class because I didn't have a penpen-cil. It was the day for exam that could allow me to proceed to the next grade; I had to repeat a grade as a result, as my friends proceeded to the next grade. This happened some 33 years ago. To your surprise this is still happening to many young children in Kenya to-day. They can't go to school because they lack pencils or school uniform; let alone shoes to wear to school. As a missionary group in Kenya we respond to such needs.
When I was in charge of the running of our two orphanages, I witnessed something that I would love to share with you. I brought a young boy of 5 years, his name is Paul, into our orphanage. He was living with his poor and old grandmother after his parents died. I bought Paul a pair of shoes, and when he wore his shoes he was so excited that he refused to take them off when going to bed. We had to wait until he fell completely a sleep to remove his shoes.
You can be my partner for 50 dollars. I invite you to be part of the Passionist mission in Kenya. Even 20 dollars will buy Paul pencils and shoes. With your twenty dollars you will keep a Passionist seminarian in the seminary for a week. So dig right down and find 20! Hey if your hand comes up with 50 that's OK. It is a big project. It costs 20,000 US dollars a year to feed and send 70 orphans to school. Above all else give what Jesus himself will enable you to do for the orphans and seminarians in Kenya.
With that donation you are going to drop in the basket during the second collection, you can change the world. Just do it! We are partners here. Jesus wants to bring life to others through you and me. We must ac-cept it invitation. Thank you and God bless you.

Social justice corner
“Come, all who are thirsty!”
From our earliest days, God has beckoned us. “Come, all who are thirsty! Come, you who have no money!” Our sickness, our exhaustion, our addictions, our fears and worries – Jesus tells us, “Bring them here to me. Don’t look to what will not satisfy. Instead, look to ME”, for NOTHING will separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, Our Lord.
Remember the parable last week of the pearl of great price? Did you know that the exquisite beauty of each pearl only happens through a long process of the pearl being irritated? The more irritation the pearl experienc-es in the shell, the more beautiful the pearl becomexperienc-es. So it is with our own livexperienc-es…our strexperienc-essexperienc-es, sacrificexperienc-es and pain cause our own pearl to become beautiful –a pearl of great price, treasured by Our Lord. He embraces us through it all.
Jesus desires us to come to Him. In the Gospel, the huge crowd followed Him. We learn that Jesus’ heart was moved with pity for them and He cured their sick. At the end of the day, they were hungry. Despite the disci-ple’s plea to Jesus to send the crowd home, Jesus said, “YOU feed them.” Oh, my! Five loaves and two fish were all they had – John’s Gospel said these were offered by a small boy. It’s laughable, yet the child offered it. And Jesus took the seemingly little gift and multiplied it to feed everyone until they were satisfied – with 12 baskets of leftovers!
What ‘small’ gift will you offer Jesus this week that Jesus will use to ‘feed’ and ‘heal’ another? Don’t’ brush aside an inspiration from the Holy Spirit’s whisperings in your heart. Just offer yourself and your gift.
Jesus said, “Come! Bring your needs to me. Spend time with me and I will heal you.” Will you carve out time to be with Him? And remember, when your prayers are over, be quiet…and listen to His response, you who are a treasured pearl in the eyes of God.
