The Department Of Economlcs under the banner of Arthakirana had organised an lndustrlal vlsit programme to Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited {KSDL}, on 1B,h February 2020, The visit was

to cater to the curricular need of the final BA students in the subject of Economics of HRM. The head of the R&D section of KSDL, Mr.Balakrishna, shared the knowledge and information on the process and steps of preparation of Soaps and Detergents. The product range, packing, exports, quality control and other related subjects were discussed

to

make students understand the functioning of the industry. The students were free to interactive and clarify their doubts. 50 students participated and they were made into groups and assigned to prepare a report sn industrial visit. The faculty members of the department of Economics accompanied the students.

Second year B.A.Students were taken for the field visit to the historical Monuments, Fort of KempeGowda, Tippu Palace and Fort VenkataRamana

Temple on

2Ol07l?AL9 by the Department of History. The origins of the

fort

date back

to

1597 by KempeGowda the

founder of

Bangalore, whoconstructed

a mud fort with a

perimeter

of

one mile surround"ed

by a trench and nine

gates.

The Fort

also bears

the imprint of

the struggle of the mighty King against the British domination.The Tipu's Fort which is a

prominent landmark of the city of Bangalore depicts intricate Islamic style architect.

The palace was

built

by

Tipu

Sultan and he named

it

as "Rash e Zannat" meaning

"Envy

of

Heavens". The sultan used the palace as a summer retreat and was

built

completely of teak wood.

Kadumalleswara and DakshinaMukha Nandi TeerthaKalyani

on

29/Al/2019 by the Deparhnent of History.

KadumalleswaraThe temple was built in the 17th century A.D. by Venkojf the brother of the Maratha King Shivaii in Dravidian

style of

architecture. Shiva

is

worshipped as

Mallikarjun. One part of the templg NandishwaraTeertha Temple (BasavaTheertha), is in front of the temple. It is said to be the main source or birthplace of the Vrishabhavathi River. The locality of Malleshwara is named after this temple.

prizes

were won

by

college stood

first

in

the competition.But we

being

the

host college

the

ovar

ship

rolling

shield was given

to Government

Science College Nrupatunga Road Bangalore,which stood second in

the competition.

The Department Of Economics under the agies of Arthakirana had organised an inter college competition on union and state Budget Analysis on 5tr March 201g.

obiective : To make students to understand the various aspects of budget at centre and state government level.

To enable students to participate in the competition and analyse the budget contents, outlay and expenditure.

outcome :The students were able to comprehend the aspects of budget both at the centre and state govern ment level.

The students were made to participate in the competition actively .

The competition was organised to provide an opportunity for the students of difererfi colleges in and around Malleshwaram. The number of participants were 18 in number.and 3 prizes were awarded based on their participation and analysis. The faculty members of depanment of Economics,

external Judges were present and principal distributed the prizes for the winners of the competition.
