4 Simple Ways You Can Make This Lesson Stick With your Kids

David and the Giant Lesson 4

THIS WEEK’S LESSON: THE JEALOUS KING

DAVID AND THE GIANT: THE JEALOUS KING

IN THE CAR:

One morning, have each person in the vehicle talk about a time they knew that God was with them. How did they know? What did it feel like? Play worship music, and thank God for watching over you and your family.

HANGING OUT:

Make some simple musical instruments – check out YouTube or Pinterest for preschool instrument ideas. Play your instruments and make up songs about your favorite things.

Next read the story of David and Saul in 1 Samuel 18:1-16. Notice how the people made up songs about how great David was. David succeeded because he trusted in God and followed him. God was with David. Get out the instruments again, and sing songs to God.

AT DINNER:

Have kids take the lead on making a dish for one meal. Guide or assist as needed. Let them know that you are with them if they need any help or run into any trouble. During the meal, praise your child for preparing their food. Tell them that you were proud of them while you watched over them making their dish. Talk about how God is with us and watching over us at all times.

AT BEDTIME:

Snuggle up together and talk about how God watches over and protects us. Assure your kids that God is watching over them right now. He loves us and is always with us.
