BACKGROUND

The Open Group has established a software acquisition and development capability to deploy the enterprise

infrastructure of the Open Group. Within this a development capability exists for the core areas of the business where the Open Group needs to rapidly customize and evolve its capabilities, systems and features to maintain its

competitive advantage.

In line with Enterprise Architecture the group has developed and evolved a core framework to create versatile and agile systems for its enterprise such as Membership, Events, Association, Publications and a Data Search and Analysis toolset. It will continue to use this proven framework to migrate and develop some of the certification programs, profiling, portals and a more integrated social media capability designed to pulls customers to the Open Group.

At any point in time it is envisaged there will be a number of small projects under development. These projects will range in size from a single person effort to a small cross functional team.

The aim of the Open Group is to establish a dynamic and balanced software acquisition and development group able to deploy new capabilities but at the same time be flexible and agile enough to support, maintain, enhance its existing capabilities.

This role is expected to contribute positively as an integral part of this organizational capability by improving the value and quality of the IT products provided by the software acquisition and development function, and speed their uptake by the Lines of Business.

• Reductions in helpdesk effort due to simplicity of use by customers supported by high quality, thorough guides and help information.

• All support issues handled or escalated promptly. • Increased productivity of admin/operations team.

Although a degree is preferred, a proven track record and the desire to succeed are more important than academic record

• Relevant qualification P

Experience:

Translation of requirements into test requirements/cases

Experience of assessing business and system level requirements, workflows and process models and determining the most appropriate test plan and testing tools to use. Convert requirements into test cases. Create test cases to improve the robustness of the product. Gain stakeholder acceptance of the test campaigns.

Technical writing, including creation of end-user documentation and technical documents.

Have developed strong writing skills and very varied experiences writing to different audiences (stakeholders, staff, end users). Can edit/revise and reuse the works of others. Create Modular end-user documentation and help system that is aligned with the business requirements and end-user documentation and easily maintained and re-deployed for subsequent programs.

Help systems development including the use of appropriate help system authoring tools.

Have very proficient skills for eliciting and acquiring information from stakeholders, research and/or discussion, assessing the relevance, completeness and logic of pertinent information; be unambiguous when creating business and system level requirements. Requirements are a suitable source for creating regression tests. Requirements are a suitable source for creating load test. Requirements are a suitable source for user interface tests. Ability to augment business level requirements with workflows, process models and user interface designs, best practice and screenshots.

User Interface testing

Experience of testing GUIs for correct functionality, usability, resilience, on-line help and look and feel. Experience of testing websites, broken links, navigation. Experience of selecting, setting up and executing tests from a UI test technology such as win runner.

Experience of selecting, setting up and executing tests from a load test technology such as load runner.

Testing tools and processes

Experience of formal processes for testing, experience using some kind of formal method (even if it's homegrown) is essential. Knowledge of commercial test tools, any experience of designing and building test tools.
