POINT OF SALE
Beautifully efficient point of sale for hospitality.Posboss came to us with a fresh idea: to make POS systems easy, fast and intuitive for Hospo businesses. Though the point of sale is the most important moment in the hospitality process, it had always been slow, frustrating and cumbersome.
Now with a light, dynamic iPad app, managers can update menus from the PosbossHQ website, and owners can track their sales data anytime, anywhere. We started
developing the iOS app for iPad and the Ruby-on-Rails Web Application in mid-2012. We also worked on the business model, enhanced the design and user experience, and started rolling out the final product to happy customers in mid-2013.

QUOTING SYSTEM
Mobilise the teamanywhere in the country. Goldpine came to us
with a problem. How
could their employees fill out sales and purchase data when they were off the grid in rural areas? Goldpine is a Nelson
based company that sells timber supplies to farmers.
We created an offline iOS app in October 2012. The app allows Goldpine staff to enter sales data that will be logged into the
system once they return to the mobile network.
Goldpine employees now just need to take their
smartphones with them when they travel,
and they can make sales and record info wherever they go.
This app was specially licensed by Apple so
that Goldpine staff have exclusive access to get the app from the App store.
This Enterprise
Distribution licensing system means that any company can make a
private app tailored to suit their specific needs and purposes.

SHOWCASE
WORKSHOP
The most powerful sales presentation tool ever unleashed.
Showcase wanted to give sales managers the ability to easily make sophisticated, polished tablet sales presentations that their staff could show to customers. Using a Python based web application, we built the Showcase Workshop website. We also made the iOS and Android mobile apps to sync with the website.
The challenge lay in transporting the intuitive swiping and button-tap functionality of the iPad ont o a website in a simple way that anyone could use. The project started in 2011 and is ongoing. We’ve succeeded in developing an online application that allows people with any level of computer confidence to build a beautiful, professional, visually stunning iPad presentation. Users then simply open the app on their tablet devices,
sync with the website and show these presentations to anyone to blow them away.

FIXIT APP
FIXIT
APP
Effortlessly let your council know about problems they need to fix.
Wellington City Council had an idea. They wanted ratepayers to be able to report problems in a fast way that bypassed costly call centres and recording time. We got
together and invented the Fixit app for iOS and Android, an instant way to photograph, describe and send issues to the council. We built the app between July - November
2012.
Fixit was so successful in giving residents control over reporting graffiti, broken powerlines, fallen trees or overflowing drains, that Palmerston North City Council
soon approached us with their own request. Now residents in both cities gain instant
reporting and rapid responses to ratepayer problems. FIXIT APP

GOALPOST
Quit smoking with thehelp of your social network.
Wellington startup Social Code wanted to help
people quit smoking by creating a social app
based on a fun series of challenges.
We provided technical direction and
Ruby-on-Rails development services to help build the responsive web
application. It can connect to a user’s Facebook and email networks to ask
their friends for support.
The website asks users to complete step-by-step tasks that bring them
closer to being smokefree. We also made a hybrid
HTML5 version of the app so that people can use Goalpost on their
smartphones, taking the social support with them.
This combo makes the process fun and
community-based, which has been proven to help people quit smoking. We started in March 2012, and are continuing to provide support and work with Social Code on several similar applications.

APP
Keep up with your children while they’re at Childcare.
After missing his 4-year-old daughter, the founder of Educa saw a need to connect parents with children who were engaged in Early Childcare Education. From this idea he developed Educa, a private online portfolio of a child’s learning that family members can experience online. Teachers post updates, photos and activities on the website and family can log in to view them online.
We developed an iOS app for Educa so that parents and family can check in on a child’s learning, now matter where they are. The app was built between January - March 2012.

Put yourself in the picture of New Zealand’s famous movies.NZ On Screen needed a fun way of showcasing New Zealand’s cinematic talent to the influx of
visitors for the Rugby World Cup 2011.
We developed an iOS iPad app in September 2011.
It used real-time green
screen technology to allow users to place themselves into movie moments.
NZ On Screen placed iPad kiosks around the country. Visitors using the kiosk
could pick their favourite Kiwi films and TV shows, and take a photo of
themselves to insert into the scene.
Users could then share those images over their social networks, or send them to their friends via email.

New Zealand’s Ministry of Health approached Touchtech about making the New
Zealand Universal List of Medicines available at the fingertips of New Zealand doctors, health practitioners and everyone interested in medical information.
We developed an intuitive iOS and Android app between April - May 2010, and
provided continuing monthlly support and updates. The app allows the entire medical community to stay up to date with information, details and recommendations about all of New Zealand’s medicines.
The app stayed in the New Zealand App Store’s top ten medical apps list for a year. It is used by over 6,000 people. Because the data is installed with the app there is no network latency and performance of the app is excellent.

EXHIBITION
An interactive exploration of the Meaning of Love in Copenhagen.
Copenhagen Museum wanted to create an interactive exhibit that allowed visitors to relate to Søren Kierkegaard’s philosophy and life
by contemplating the meaning of love in 2013.
In May 2013, Touchtech were engaged by our client Gibson Group to help create an exhibition in which visitors could
bring and deposit objects that had some significance to the meaning of love for them.
Android apps on tablets were used to record the stories and the collection of these objects.
Videos of the object stories were displayed on screens using Ruby-on-Rails and a lightweight Raspberry Pi computer.
The same tablets were
then used to navigate the screens.
Visitors thus contributed their own experiences to the meaning of love, and used these to interact with Kierkegaard’s thoughts
and experiences.

No coins? No worries.Introducing Cashless Vending.
VMSL is a Masterton
based subsidiary of Coca-Cola Amtil that supplies Coca-Cola vending
machines.
They wanted to bring these vending machines into the digital age when less people have spare change in their pockets. Between January - July 2013, we built an iOS and
Android app that allows people to pay through
their phone by scanning a QR code.
The app also gives customers access to
special promotions, and gives VMSL insight into vending machine use across NZ and Australia.
The apps use both NFC and QR Code technology and integrates with an API provided by VMSL.

ESTATEPAD &
ESTATEAGENT
Helping real estate agentsorganise their time.
The real estate industry had a problem. Agents were juggling contacts, features, listings, open homes, dates, times, characteristics and prospects through a messy combination of computer docs, phone
tools and scraps of paper.
We built EstatePad between April -
September 2010 to simplify things.
EstatePad is an iOS iPhone and iPad app that holds all the information a realtor might need in their day-to-day activities.
It manages a timetable, tracks tasks, maintains a contacts database, records listings and organises people and
properties into categories, such as ‘Potential buyer’, ‘Past purchaser’ or ‘Active seller’.
It is the world’s first customer relationship management system for real estate. ES TA TEP AD TOUCHTECH

Connecting the Humira community.
Wellington startup Social Code engaged us to help with a unique project. They wanted to provide an online space for the community of people that take Humira medication. Humira is used to treat conditions such as Crohns and Arthritis. We built a website
using Ruby on Rails and JavaScript, and a mobile iOS app so that the community can now share questions and experiences with like-minded people, wherever they may be. We started in December 2012 and the project is still ongoing. The design mirrors social networking platforms, bringing the community closer together. Members can find
useful information or live videochat with dedicated nurses.
