281: 1-3

REJOICE THE LORD IS KING 1 Rejoice, the Lord is King: your Lord and King adore! Rejoice, give thanks, and sing,

and triumph evermore. Refrain:

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice! Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

2 Jesus the Savior reigns, the God of truth and love; when he had purged our stains, he took his seat above. [Refrain]

3 His kingdom cannot fail, he rules o'er earth and heav'n;

the keys of death and hell are to our Jesus giv'n. [Refrain]

374: 1, 5, 6

5 Let ev'ry kindred, ev'ry tribe, on this terrestrial ball, to him all majesty ascribe, and crown him Lord of all; to him all majesty ascribe, and crown him Lord of all. 6 O that with yonder sacred throng

we at his feet may fall; we'll join the everlasting song,

and crown him Lord of all; we'll join the everlasting song,

and crown him Lord of all.

HEAR OUR PRAYER, O LORD

I WILL EXTOL YOU, O MY GOD 1 I will extol you, O my God,

and praise you, O my king; yes, ev'ry day and evermore

your praises I will sing. Great is the Lord, our mighty God,

and greatly to be praised; his greatness is unsearchable,

above all glory raised. 2 Each generation to the next

shall testimony bear,

and to your praise, from age to age, your wondrous acts declare.

Upon your glorious majesty and honor I will dwell,

and all your grand and glorious works and all your greatness tell.

3 Your mighty acts and awesome deeds we shall with awe confess;

of your great goodness they shall sing, and perfect righteousness.

Most gracious and compassionate is God, who reigns above; his wrath is ever slow to rise,

unbounded is his love.

B

FROM OUT THE DEPTHS I CRY 1 From out the depths I cry, O Lord, to you;

Lord, hear my call.

I love you, Lord, for you will hear my plea, forgiving all.

If you should mark our sins, who then could stand?

But grace and mercy dwell at your right hand.

2 I wait for God, the Lord, and on his word my hope relies;

my soul still waits and looks unto the Lord till light arise.

I look for him to drive away my night, yes, more than watchmen look for morning

light.

3 Hope in the Lord, you waiting saints, and he

will well provide,

for mercy and redemption full and free with him abide.

From sin and evil, mighty though they seem,

ETERNAL IS YOUR WORD, O LORD 1 Eternal is your word, O LORD in heav’n it

stands for ever sure,

Your truth remains thro’ every age the earth you founded, it endures. They stand by your decree this day, for all

things serve your sovereign way. 2 Had not your law been my delight, I would

have perished in my strife.

Your precepts I will not forget; for thro’ them you preserved my life.

LORD rescue me, for I am yours, and I have sought to know your word.

3 The wicked lie in wait for me; destruction threatens at their hands,

but I, in spite of all their threats, will still consider your commands.

Perfection’s limits I have found, but your commandments have no bound.

I LAY MY SINS ON JESUS 1 I lay my sins on Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God;

2 I lay my wants on Jesus; all fullness dwells in him;

he heals all my diseases, he doth my soul redeem:

I lay my griefs on Jesus, my burdens and my cares; he from them all releases, he all my sorrows shares.

3 I rest my soul on Jesus, this weary soul of mine; his right hand me embraces,

I on his breast recline. I love the name of Jesus, Immanuel, Christ, the Lord; like fragrance on the breezes

his name abroad is poured. 4 I long to be like Jesus, meek, loving, lowly, mild;

I long to be like Jesus, the Father's holy child:

I long to be with Jesus amid the heav'nly throng, to sing with saints his praises,

to learn the angels' song.

LIKE A RIVER GLORIOUS 1 Like a river glorious is God's perfect peace,

over all victorious in its bright increase; perfect, yet it floweth

fuller ev'ry day, perfect, yet it groweth

deeper all the way. Refrain:

Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest, finding, as he promised,

perfect peace and rest. 2 Hidden in the hollow

of his blessed hand, never foe can follow,

never traitor stand; not a surge of worry,

not a shade of care, not a blast of hurry, touch the spirit there. [Refrain]

3 Ev'ry joy or trial falleth from above, traced upon our dial

by the Sun of Love. We may trust him fully

all for us to do; they who trust him wholly find him wholly true. [Refrain]

436: 1, 2

MY FAITH HAS FOUND A RESTING PLACE

1 My faith has found a resting place, from guilt my soul is freed;

I trust the ever-living One, his wounds for me shall plead.

Refrain:

I need no other argument, I need no other plea, it is enough that Jesus died,

and that he died for me. 2 Enough for me that Jesus saves,

this ends my fear and doubt; a sinful soul, I come to him, he’ll never cast me out. [Refrain]

HEAR OUR PRAYER, O LORD

thy peace. Amen.

A

SHOUT TO THE LORD, ALL THE EARTH 1. Shout to the LORD, all earth, and make a

joyful noise!

With gladness serve the LORD your God; before him lift your voice!

Now know the LORD is God. He made us, we are his-

His people and his sheep, who safely in his pasture graze.

2. Enter his gates with thanks, and fill his courts with praise.

Give thanks to him, and bless his name; to God your voices raise.

Because the LORD is good, his steadfast love endures;

From age to age, forevermore, his faithfulness is sure.

170: 1, 3, 5

GOD, IN THE GOSPEL OF HIS SON 1 God, in the gospel of his Son, makes his eternal counsels known;

where love in all its glory shines, and truth is drawn in fairest lines.

B

O LORD, MY GOD, MOST EARNESTLY 1 O Lord, my God, most earnestly

my heart would seek thy face, within thy holy house once more

to see thy glorious grace. Apart from thee I long and thirst,

and nought can satisfy; I wander in a desert land where all the streams are dry. 2 The loving-kindness of my God

is more than life to me; so I will bless thee while I live

and lift my pray'r to thee. In thee my soul is satisfied,

my darkness turns to light, and joyful meditations fill

the watches of the night.

3 My Savior, 'neath thy shelt'ring wings my soul delights to dwell;

still closer to thy side I press, for near thee all is well. My soul shall conqer ev'ry foe,

upholden by thy hand; thy people shall rejoice in God,
