Logicify is a young however proficient company specializing in niche software services. At Logicify        we have been working with various specific domains, using different up­to­date and cutting­edge        technologies to deliver a good working product and service of this product to the customer.  We bring logic to the software systems and development processes. Case Studies 

Upgrading a Legacy System to Modern Technology 

Customer has inquired if it is possible to re­create the existing software from scratch. Coming to        us in 2011, they had a code storage written in an endemic programming language and        technology which never worked.  

Logicify formed a technical team to perform assessment and development. During the extremely        short ramp­up period the team taught themselves that abandoned technology and started to        build the new system and gather business intelligence from the legacy one in parallel. During the        second month, when the periodic internal releases were set up, formal QA was added to the        process, tracking requirements and issues.  

Finally, the new product version was released to the customer, featuring all the functionality        which was intended for the legacy one, however having it materialized and working. A great        addition ­ full documentation on business domain and rules was also delivered.  

Creating a New Educational Start­up from Scratch 

An entrepreneur from the Russian Federation reached us out with the inquiry for the new startup        development. The system would have provided educational services for kindergarten­age        children, including them, teacher personnel, parents into the tight communicational loop.  

The system development began with outlining the epic requirements for the system. After that,        the agile process was booted up, featuring iterative development through close and active        client’s product manager involvement. At the same time, team familiarized themselves with the        subject area and started to put their own improvement suggestions to the feature backlog.   Finally, after several successful internal released, the application was released to the public, and        is in use by the client company now.  

Boosting the Development of a New Social Network­like Application 

A brand new Singapore­London startup company reached us asking out for consulting on their        existing codebase. The server side of the application had already been created mostly with the        node.js technology, and the actual work needed was securing, maturing and stabilizing the        server before the launch date.  

As usual with the startup companies, the deadline was close. Logicify formed a very small but        effective team of several engineers to provide the consulting.

Security measures were put first,        starting from audit trail, securing the API with the external security layer, performing code        refactoring to externalize configuration and improve fail­early policy in case of misconfiguration.        In the mid­stage the load testing suite was developed to prove the capacity of the new system,        and series of load tests were performed against cloud­based deployment mimicking production.   Finally, the formal sign­off, acceptance and review process was fired. Careful planning and risk        mitigation allowed the Logicify team to meet very tight deadlines but deliver the improved        product to the customer. Successful launch happened on the date planned.

Java/Linux 

We work in traditional Java/Linux setup typical for many serious industry players, as well as in        the light­weight modern stack. Some buzzwords to mention: 

Spring MVC, Struts, JSF, Freemarker, JSP Web fronted, Spring glue layer, Hibernate, TopLink,        MyBatis persistence provider. We love Apache Wicket.  

Microsoft 

On par with the Java/Linux stack usage, we apply our skills for the Microsoft product family. We        have been completing projects featuring ASP.NET, ASP, Windows Workflow Foundation, Windows       

Communication Foundation, and supporting legacy systems built with COM and earlier scripting        languages. 

Lightweight and Modern Technologies 

PHP is mostly used for our customers’ Web sites and extending specific applications. We have        experience in developing integration modules and extensions for Drupal, Magento, Prestashop,        and other popular shopping carts. 

Python. We used Django Web framework for developing social applications and have experience        with integrating Python code with native C libraries. 

Full integration with Amazon and other cloud hosting platforms is popular now. We have been        deploying our products to Amazon ec2, ElasticBeansTalk, Heroku and Azure. We have widely        used cloud­based hosting features of Amazon s3 and storage like MongoLab, Cloudinary.  

Databases 

PostgreSQL (we like it), SQLite, FoxPro (legacy products support), MySQL, MS SQL Server,        MongoDB. NoSQL is currently on a specific value.  

Other 

Web development. We know and like jQuery, Prototype, Google Web Toolkit for single­pagers,        ExtJs, AngularJS. We also use all of these in our customers’ projects. 

We currently have some capacity in Android development.
