This course is designed for you to learn how your peers best utilize the various features of the software and how Medflow contributes to their success. How to Successfully Code for ICD-10 as an Ophthalmologist
This course will explain ICD-10 and the key differences between ICD-9 and ICD-10. The course will also examine the code structure and format of ICD-10 and the impact clinical documentation will have on a successful ICD-10 transition. The instructor will provide examples specific to ophthalmology to give you a detailed understanding of the new coding requirements.
Meaningful Use 2015 & Beyond
This course will provide a detailed overview and update on Meaningful Use 2015, Stage 3, and the future of Meaningful Use. Our resident compliance officer will educate you on changes from CMS for Core & Menu Objectives, CQM’s, how to remain in compliance, what lies ahead and more.
Medflow 2.0 Presentation (Part 1)
This course is an introduction to Medflow’s new cloud-based EHR including a live demonstration of the software. This course will convey the thought behind the decision to move towards a cloud-based product, benefits of doing so, and the advantages cloud-based technology allows. This course will introduce you to a unique, new, and configurable architecture with a toolkit of containers, forms, and widgets making this software adaptable to your workflow and not the other way around.
Medflow 2.0 Transition (Part 2)
This course will outline the process for the transition to move from the current Medflow EHR to the new, more robust cloud-based product, Medflow 2.0. The instructor will provide details on the conversion, training, the implementation process, and a timeline for the product’s availability. Time will be allotted for questions about the product and the process.
Medflow Patient Portal
This course is an introduction to Medflow’s new patient portal and provides a live demonstration of the patient portal’s features, benefits, and ease of use.
Presentation will also include how to market the portal to increase awareness, to foster patient adoption, and strategies on how to be successful with patient portal.

Navigating the Future of Ophthalmology: Physician Compare Initiative, Patient Surveys & Value Based Modifier Program
This course is an introduction to the Physician Compare Initiative and its
interconnectedness with Patient Surveys and the Value Based Modifier Program. Students will learn why CMS created the Physician Compare Initiative and the potential financial impact it and the Value Based Modifier Program may have on the physician and the practice.
CMS launched the Physician Compare Initiative to help consumers make informed decisions about the healthcare they receive from Medicare and to create incentives for physicians to maximize performance. In this course students will learn why it is important to participate, be compliant, and how CMS gathers the data, and what they do with it. The course instructor will cover how this relates to PQRS, how to effectively use Patient Surveys to gather data to improve patient care, and how all this relates to the Value Based Modifier number given to the physician.
Office of Inspector General Requirements for Compliance by Individual and Group Physician Practices
Failure to comply with the Office of Inspector General (OIG) requirements presents the greatest risk (in monetary penalties and lost revenue) for all practices that have a Medicare patient population. This course overviews the OIG requirements for practices obtaining payments from the federal government for services provided to Medicare patients and the penalties for failure to comply. This course will explain the enhancements and improvements to Treatment Profiles in Medflow 8.1.0400. The instructor will lead you through a demonstration of the new functionality and give a walk-through of how to configure and utilize the new screen.
Reporting in Medflow 8.1
Learn to utilize the query tool in Medflow to your benefit. This course will explain the new reports introduced in Medflow 8.1.0400 and how they will assist you in reporting for Meaningful Use and PQRS. Productivity reports will also be discussed. The instructor will demonstrate how to run these reports and provide you with example reports.

General Session Courses
IRIS™ Registry Update
This course will explain the importance of the IRIS™ Registry as it relates to PQRS reporting, CQM’s, and the enhancement of patient care. You will be provided the status on the data gathered thus far, the reporting tools, and you will see one clinic’s experience using the IRIS™ Registry.
PQRS 101: An introduction to the Physician Quality Reporting System and the Value Based Modifier.
Dr. Mingle will review the history, current state, and expected future changes to Medicare’s Physician Quality Reporting System and the Value Based Modifier. He will quantify and explain the penalties that will accrue to those who do not
participate, review the requirements for successful participation, and compare and contrast the submission options. The session will touch on the various submission options applicable to Eye Care Providers.
PQRS 201: Specifics of the Cataracts Measure Group Submission.
Dr. Mingle will review the detailed requirements and processes to make a 2015 Cataracts Measure Group submission to avoid 2017 penalties relating to the Physician Quality Reporting System and the Value Based Modifier. The session is expected to be interactive with time to answer your real-world questions.
