2. RSA Authentication
If you are connected to an internet network within a European Parliament building go straight to step
3. If you are connected to the internet from anywhere else you must be allowed through the European
Parliament firewall. You must complete this step every time you want to use Citrix Receiver outside a
EP WIFI network.
Open Safari and go to
If your main work location is in Brussels go to this address:
http://bauth1.europarl.europa.eu:900/
If your main work location is in Luxembourg go to this address:
http://lauth1.europarl.europa.eu:900/
It is recommended that you add the address to your "favourites" folder because you will need to repeat this step whenever you connect with Citrix from a non EP network.
Input your personal pin-code followed the current RSA key as displayed on the electronic tag. Tap on "submit". These should have been given to you by your Local System Administrator (LSA)
If you do not have a personal pin-code or an RSA key you may not have access to the remote desktop services. Ask your LSA for more information.
Select "Standard Sign-on". Tap on submit.
Wait for the authentication process to complete. Once
the process is done you will have 6 minutes to complete step 3 or 4. If you take longer you will

3. Setting up your Citrix Account
Depending on your place of work some details of your account will change. A Luxembourg account will still
work when in Brussels and vice versa. You can also set up two accounts, one for Brussels and one for
Luxembourg. This way you will have a backup account if one of the servers goes down.
If you are not using a European Parliament WIFI network you have to complete step 2 before setting up
your account.
Start the Citrix Receiver App Select "Add Account".
If your main workplace is Brussels write:
https://tswebbru.secure.europarl.europa.eu/pnagent/config.xml
If your main workplace is Luxembourg write:
On Description write: "Bru" or "Lux" depending on your location.
On Username write your EP user name On Password write your EP password On Domain write: "ep.parl.union.eu" Tap on the "Save" button.
If this does not work and you are not using an EP WIFI
network make sure you completed step 2 under 6 minutes ago.

5. Quitting and Logging Off
After using Remote Desktop Services it is important that you quit and log off. Failure to do this is a
security risk. This is particularly important if you are using RDS somewhere outside the EP. Note that if the
RDS session is inactive for more than one hour it will automatically log off and you will lose any
unsaved work.
There are two ways to log off RDS using the iPad.
The first is to open the start menu (1) and click on the log off button (2).
This will end your RDS session and take you to the Citrix Receiver interface. Here tap on the "+" button on the left hand side of the screen.

This will bring up a menu. Tap on the "Log Off" button at the top left corner. You have now fully logged off your RDS sessions and Citrix Receiver
This brings up the iPad specific menu. Here tap on the Home button.
This will take you to the Citrix Receiver interface. But note that you will not have logged off from the RDS session. If you now tap on "EP 7 Desktop" you will return to your RDS session as you left it. If you take more than an hour to return however the RDS session will have automatically logged off.

This will bring up a menu. Tap on the "Log Off" button at the top left corner.
Because you have not logged off your RDS session a message will appear. This is a standard Citrix Receiver message. Ignore what it says about unsaved data. Because of security reasons your session will be automatically logged off after one hour on inactivity, this means you will lose all unsaved data.
Tap on "Log Off".
