Many retailers deal with the frustration that accompanies having to manage separate functions within their eCommerce systems. These retailers may have a shopping cart that takes orders on the site, a separate content management system for website content, several bolt-on products for managing promotions and rewards, as well as separate add-ons for dealing with shipping and inventory. An approach like this, dealing with multiple systems in order to run an eCommerce

business, leaves customer, order and inventory data all living in separate systems resulting in re-keying data and overall inefficiency.

Conversely, the benefits of an integrated

eCommerce system are many. And, for retailers who want to be able to scale their business as it grows, an integrated eCommerce platform is key.

Deploying integrated eCommerce is the most efficient way to improve your operations and centralize your data so that your business can grow and become more agile within the market. It is almost impossible to stay current within the digital commerce industry, if you are dealing with scattered systems and data. But by moving to an eCommerce platform that can act as a central

data hub, your business can streamline operations and tackle emerging technologies much more efficiently. And, with a cloud based platform you’ll be able to reduce operating costs as you grow.

UniteU Commerce centralizes all customer, product and order data in one place. This enables greater flexibility and the ability to access data in feeds that can be delivered across online

channels, emerging technologies and for in-store initiatives supporting multi-channel operations.

Data Flexibility Means Taking Advantage of Omnichannel

UniteU Commerce™ can integrate with any existing retail system and has a long history and experience working with Retail Pro Software. Our platform can integrate with legacy versions such as Version 8 and we also support a round-trip integration for Version 9. Our integration pulls inventory information into the commerce engine using the ECM communication tool. Products can then be manipulated and enriched within our robust content management system for optimal presentation on your web storefront. Data coming from your point of sale system can also be transformed on input using our word mapping tools, to ensure

information is being presented in its best format for your shoppers. Finally, shopper profile and order data are sent securely and seamlessly back to Retail Pro for fulfillment.

One example that showcases the flexibility of the UniteU Commerce platform is our new mobile point of sale application which runs on iPad devices. This application is supported by the UniteU Commerce platform’s backend, giving a merchant access to all of their robust data sets in the palm of their hand. The application can act as a digital retail assistant, looking up a shopper’s online purchase history and helping sales associates to recommend products, or it can be used as a transaction processer during busy seasons. Associates can transact an order right within the isle so that shoppers can bypass busy lines. Data and content from UniteU Commerce™ can also be leveraged for kiosk interfaces within store locations so that customers can look up products that may be missing in-store and order them online.
