APPRECIATION EVENT GIVEAWAY
OFFICIAL RULES
1. GENERAL: No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve your chances
of winning. Contest void where prohibited by law. Participation in the Shell Canada Limited 2015 Customer Appreciation Event Giveaway Contest (the “Contest”) constitutes each entrant’s full and unconditional agreement and acceptance of these Official Rules and any additional terms and conditions specific to the Contest communicated by the Sponsor (or its authorized representatives). By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest.
2. SPONSOR: The Contest is sponsored by Shell Canada Limited, 400 4th Ave SW, Calgary, AB
T2P 2H5 (the “Sponsor”).
3. ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) who are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in the entrant’s Province or Territory of legal residence) as of October 22, 2015.
To be eligible to win a Prize, a potential winner must not be:
(a) an employee, director, officer, or a retiree of the Sponsor or its affiliated companies, agents, divisions, or franchisees, its respective advertising or promotional agencies;
(b) an employee, director, officer or retiree of any Shell retail site, or
(c) any of the above individuals’ Immediate Family (regardless of where they live) or a person who is domiciled with the individual (whether related to the individual or not). In these Official Rules, “Immediate Family” means spouse, parent, child, sibling (including foster and step-relations), and their respective spouses.
4. CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest begins at approximately 7:10 a.m. on October 22, 2015 and

HOW TO ENTER: At approximately 7:10 a.m. on October 22, 2015 Sponsor will reveal via its Twitter account and/or radio advertisements the location of the first Shell retail site that will participate in the Contest. The Shell Twitter account may be accessed at @Shell_Canada. A total of five (5) Shell retail sites will participate in the Contest at various times throughout the Contest Period. Each Shell retail site will participate in the Contest for a window of approximately forty (40) minutes (each an “Entry Window”). The location of each participating Shell retail location and the corresponding Entry Window will be revealed via Shell’s Twitter account and/or radio advertisements (each an “Announcement”); provided that the location of each participating Shell retail site will remain secret until the Announcement is made. The approximate schedule shall be as follows:

Following the relevant Announcement and during the applicable Entry Window, entrants must arrive via Motor Vehicle at the participating Shell retail site and line up in their Motor Vehicles in order to enter for a chance to win a Prize. A maximum of forty (40) entrants will be eligible for the chance to win a Prize during each Entry Window; provided that fewer entrants may be eligible for entry depending on the entrant processing time required during each Entry Window.
Limit of one (1) entrant per Motor Vehicle during each Entry Window. For clarity, in the
event that a Motor Vehicle contains more than one occupant, only one (1) occupant will be eligible to enter the Contest for the chance to win a Prize. For purposes of this section, “Motor Vehicle” shall include any passenger vehicle that requires gasoline or diesel fuel in order to operate. No fuel purchase required for entry.
3 of Sponsor will confirm in writing on the playing card the details of the Prize and the potential winner may proceed to the pump to receive $50.00 of Shell fuel which shall be redeemed on site at the time of prize fulfillment or $50 Shell Canada Gift Cards may be provided in lieu of fuel upon request. While the vehicle is being fueled by a representative of the Sponsor, the potential winner may proceed directly to the potential winner confirmation area, where potential winners must confirm their eligibility and sign a waiver and release. Potential winners shall only be eligible to win the Prize that is indicated in writing on the playing card; Prizes may not be exchanged or redeemed for cash. In addition to the Prize revealed on the playing card, each confirmed winner will also receive $50.00 worth of Shell fuel, or a $50.00 Shell Gift Card provided in lieu of fuel upon request.
6. PRIZES: At the outset of the Contest, four hundred (400) prizes (each a “Prize” and collectively the “Prizes”) will be available to be awarded; provided that there are eighty (80) prizes available to be won at each participating Shell retail site during each relevant Entry Window (these Prizes consist of $50.00 worth of Shell fuel which shall be redeemed on site at the time of prize fulfillment (or $50 Shell Canada Gift Cards may be provided in lieu of fuel upon request), and forty (40) individual Prizes).
Each confirmed winner will receive two Prizes: (1) $50.00 worth of Shell fuel which shall be redeemed on site at the time of prize fulfillment or a $50 Shell Canada Gift Card provided in lieu of fuel upon request; and (2) one of the forty (40) available individual Prizes, as indicated on the entrant’s winning playing card. If a winning playing card is not selected during the applicable Entry Window, then the Prize will not be awarded. The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of all Prizes at each participating Shell retail site is $13,280.00 and the total ARV of all Prizes available to be won during the Contest is $66,400.00.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution and are not transferable, are not for resale and have no cash surrender value. The Sponsor reserves the right in the event that a Prize or any component of a Prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason, to substitute a similar Prize or component of Prize of equal or greater value without liability.
7 compliance with these Official Rules (the Sponsors reserve the right to request proof of identification, in the form of government-issued ID, to confirm that eligibility requirements have been met); and (c) sign and immediately return a waiver and release in the form requested by Sponsor. Subject to the paragraph below and any other qualifications set forth in these Official Rules, Prizes will be provided on site to each confirmed winner upon satisfaction of the terms and conditions set forth herein.
In the event that a potential winner is ineligible to win or otherwise disqualified from the Contest, then the applicable Prize(s) will be forfeited and will not be awarded during the Contest.
Acceptance of a Prize constitutes permission for Sponsor and its agencies to use the winner's persona, name, biographical information, opinions, voice, photograph and/or likeness for advertising and promotional purposes in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, review, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law.
9. INDEMNIFICATION: The Contest winners agree, by accepting a Prize, and each entrant
agrees, by entering or participating in the Contest, to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor, and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, retailers, advertising and promotional agencies, Prize suppliers, Twitter, Facebook and any other individuals or legal entities participating in the design, administration or fulfillment of this Contest and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively “Released
Parties”) from and against any and all liability for any threatened or actual injuries, loss, or
8 rescind this release. A waiver by Sponsor of any term in these Official Rules does not constitute a waiver of any other provision.
10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: In no event will the Released Parties be responsible or liable
for any damages or losses of any kind, including indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of this Contest. Without limiting the foregoing, Sponsor has not made, and Sponsor is not responsible in any manner for, any warranties, representations or guarantees, express or implied, in fact or law, relating to any Prize, including but not limited to, mechanical condition, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Sponsor accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or claims caused by or resulting from the Contest or acceptance of a Prize. The Sponsor will not be responsible for lost, falsified or destroyed playing cards, nor for a failure of any potential winner to contact Sponsor, for any reason whatsoever, within the time frame outlined in Rule 8, and all such playing cards are void. Playing Cards that have been falsified, tampered with or altered are void. The Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, administration of the Contest, lost or stolen playing cards or transmissions, interruption, defect or failures of any computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof which may impede a entrant from being declared a winner and Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for a failure or delay by the potential winner to identify him or herself as required by Rule 8. In the event it is determined that an entrant or potential winner has obtained a playing card in a fashion not sanctioned by these Official Rules, the entrant or potential winner will be disqualified.
The Sponsor reserves the right, to terminate or suspend all or part of this Contest or to amend the Official Rules at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest. The Sponsor shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest. Sponsors further reserve the right to disqualify any individual it suspects, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, to be cheating, or acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner.
11. PRIVACY: Neither the Sponsor nor its affiliates will use or disclose entrants’ personal

12. LEGAL JURISDICTION: By entering the Contest, entrants agree: (a) that any and all disputes,
