As you pursue and focus on continuing to incorporate safety protocols within your operations, we listened to you in regards to the MIIA FY22 Risk Management Grant Program offerings. In response to your feedback we are expanding the equipment list and working with qualified vendors to make it easier for you to search for top quality materials and equipment.
You are welcome to make purchases from other vendors and to purchase equipment not shown in this list but that addresses items in the grant application. Please note that all grant submis- sions require an attached vendor estimate. This Equipment List is intended to make your search for quality items easier.
Please ensure you are properly trained and use the equipment and materials purchased in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
For any member that is awarded a thermal imaging camera MIIA will be purchasing them from the vendor. The vendor will send the camera directly to you. Please note that you will have to indicate on the MIIA grant application the thermal camera model and cost estimate of the cam- era that you wish to obtain.

Lawn Mower Lifts
How to calculate the necessary lift capacity of a lawn mower lift?
The weight lifting capacity of a lawn mower lift indicates only half of its actual capacity. That is because the lawn mower lift lifts only one half of the lawnmower. For example, if a lift’s weight lifting capacity is 500 lbs, it can easily lift the lawn mower, which weighs 1000 lbs in total. Therefore, while buying the lawn mower lift, you can choose a lift with a lifting capacity of a little over half of your mower’s weight.
If you are unsure how much your mower weighs go to the manufacturer’s website for your specific mower. All mower manufacturers will have the weight listed.
This is something that should always be checked before ordering a mower lift or using one. The last thing you want is to get a mower lift that isn’t strong enough. The risk of a mower falling on you is simply not worth it.
