General Information

The Art & Science of Palliative Nursing course focuses on applying essential principles of palliative nursing to the care of patients with serious and life threatening illnesses. This year’s sessions will highlight advance care planning, communication, pain and symptom management, and integrative therapies in palliative care.

Course Location

The Art & Science of Palliative Nursing will be held at the Inn at Longwood Medical, located at 342 Longwood Ave., Boston. The course is conveniently located on the MBTA Green Line (D-Longwood stop or E-Longwood Medical Area stop), near Fenway and the Longwood Medical Area. Parking is available at the hotel as well as area garages. It is recommended that you dress in layers to accommodate variable room temperatures.

Course Tuition

2-Day Registration ... $300 2-Day Student Registration ... $225 1-Day Registration ... $200 1-Day Student Registration ... $150

Tuition covers all breaks and course materials. In a continuing effort to “Go Green,” only an electronic version of the course syllabus will be provided.

A handling fee of $75 is deducted for cancellation. Refund requests must be received by email, mail, or fax two weeks prior to the start of the course. No refunds will be made thereafter. No shows will not receive a refund.

Continuing Education Credits

5.75 contact hours will be awarded for attending the Thursday program in its entirety 6.50 contact hours will be awarded for attending the Friday program in its entirety 12.25 total contact hours.

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is an approved provider (#PA-156) of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Association Massachusetts, an accredited approver by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
