Cash Management Account

The Cash Management Account is just that – a day-to-day working account that’s managed by you, not your bank. You control the way you use it. There’s no need to open a different account every time your banking needs change. It can be used as a savings or an investment account, and with an account opening deposit of just $200 it’s easy to get started.

Accessing your money is easy. You can choose to have a cheque book and an Access Card. Your Access Card gives you ATM and EFTPOS access throughout Australia, and around the world wherever you see the Cirrus Maestro™ logo displayed. Use BankNet and BankPhone to check your account balance, transfer funds and arrange bill payments, 24 hours, 7 days a week, bank fee-free.

Depositing your money is easy too. Either call into any branch of Australia Post*to deposit both cheques and cash, or mail your cheque free of charge to AMP Banking.

Choose your Fee Plan

If you’re a personal customer and are likely to make a lot of ATM, EFTPOS or cheque transactions, the $10 monthly fee makes sense. When you pay $10 per month you receive a rebate of $10 worth of transactions charged at a cheaper rate. Or, if you don’t make many transactions in a month, you might find it’s easier to pay for your transactions as you go and pay no monthly fee. You decide. And, you can change your fee plan for the following month if you need to. Just call us.

Investment Builder Account

Our Investment Builder Account lets you add to your savings at any time. Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly on the full closing balance. So, you’ll earn a competitive rate that moves with market trends. Check our website

As your investment grows, so does the interest you earn. This is an excellent incentive to maintain your savings, and you’re not locked in should your circumstances change. The minimum account opening deposit is just $500. After that you can deposit as much or as little as you like. To make a deposit you can either send us a cheque, direct debit from another bank account or transfer funds by phone. You can transfer money to another person or another account and arrange bill payments using BankNet or BankPhone. But, because this account is about saving, there is no cheque, ATM or EFTPOS access to tempt you away from your goals!

What’s more, you’ll save money because there are no monthly account fees to pay.

eASYSAVER

High interest earning online account

eASYSAVER is designed specifically for personal customers who are Internet users, and offers one of the highest ‘at call’ rates of all our savings accounts. Whether you’re saving for a special goal, or have a lump sum that you want to earn extra interest on in the short term, eASYSAVER is the account for you.

The benefits of eASYSAVER are clear and simple -competitive interest rates and the convenience of Internet banking. Make deposits by cheque (payable to AMP Bank Limited) through the post, by direct credit or transferring funds from another AMP Banking account.

Withdraw your money by making a transfer to your AMP Banking account or any other bank account you have registered with us through BankNet or BankPhone (this account must be in the same name as your eASYSAVER Account).

There is no minimum opening balance or monthly account fees.

Term Deposits

Choose from 30 days to 5 years or any length in between.

Interest payments are also flexible. For terms of 1 year or more, we’ll pay your interest monthly, quarterly, 6 monthly or annually – you decide.*

Have your interest added to your investment and reinvested for another term or paid directly to your registered bank account. For terms of 1 year or less, your interest is paid at maturity. There are no monthly account fees. Service fees apply to withdrawals by telegraphic transfer and bank draft.

* A lower interest rate applies for interest payments other than annual.

At maturity you have a number of options. Put your money away for another term, withdraw part of it and put the rest away again or have it paid back to you with interest. If you’re undecided at the end of the term why not put your money at call in an eASYSAVER Account and earn interest while you decide.

Next steps

To open a new account with AMP Banking simply follow these steps:

1. Complete an application form.

2. Provide the minimum deposit for the account you’re opening.

3. For Cash Management Accounts and Investment Builder Accounts - if you’re a new AMP Banking customer we are required by law to verify your identity. See how to do this in “Getting identified” below. If you’re an existing customer who has already been identified, you can send your application to us with your cheque.

4. For Term Deposit and eASYSAVER Accounts, send your application with your cheque (made payable to AMP Bank Ltd) to us in the Reply Paid envelope, or visit your AMP Adviser or Financial Planner.

Getting identified

The Financial Transactions Reports Act 1988 requires AMP Banking to identify the signatories of our Cash Management and Investment Builder Accounts. You must provide identification totalling 100 points, such as a passport or birth certificate (70 points), Australian drivers licence (40 points), credit card (25 points), Medicare card (25 points). There are additional requirements for companies, businesses and trusts. Call us on 13 30 30.

Here are the ways you can be identified:

1. At Australia Post* (where the GiroPost symbol is shown). They’ll need your application, cash or cheque and will sight your identification documents. If it’s a joint account, then both of you will need to be identified.

OR

2. Your AMP Adviser or Financial Planner. Take your application, cheque and identification documents to an AMP Financial Planner.

OR

3. Acceptable Referee. If you’d like to mail your application or there are many signatories to be identified, then each of you can be identified by an Acceptable Referee who has known you for at least 12 months. Examples of Acceptable Referees are Accountants, Dentists, Justices of the Peace, Solicitors or Medical Practitioners.

*Accounts opened with cash can only be made at Australia Post offices. Applies to personal customers only.
