MSS Security runs the Certificate II in Security Operations training
course on a monthly basis. The course we deliver includes Unarmed
& Crowd Control modules as well as Provide First Aid.
Upon successful completion of the course and after obtaining a
security licence, MSS Security offers a training to recruitment
pathway to license holders that meet the relevant selection criteria.
The cost of the course
is
$1050 and is trained over 14 days including
2 days of First Aid.

Course Units (CPP20212)
To become employed as a security officer you are required to undertake training in the
following units in order to obtain your Western Australia Security Licence.
Core Units:
CPPSEC2001A - Communicate effectively in the security industry CPPSEC2003B - Work effectively in the security industry
CPPSEC2002A - Follow workplace safety procedures in the security industry CPPSEC2004B - Respond to a security risk situation
CPPSEC2005A - Work as a part of a security team CPPSEC2006B - Provide security services to clients HLTAID003 - Provide First Aid
Elective Units:
CPPSEC2015A - Patrol Premises
CPPSEC2011B - Control access to and exit from premises CPPSEC2014A - Operate basic security equipment TLIE2007A - Use communication systems
CPPSEC2017A - Protect self and other using basic defensive tactics
Crowd Control (inclusive):
These units are in addition to the Certificate II in Security Operations units above. For employment in Crowd Control you must undertake the following elective units.

Security Licensing Requirements for Western Australia
If you wish to perform duties as a Security Officer or Crowd Controller in Western Australia you must have a Security
Licence. You can apply for this when you have successfully completed the necessary training requirements set down
by the WA Police.

Eligibility for Registration
You are eligible to be registered if you meet the following criteria:
be 18 years or older
have no recorded conviction of a disqualifying offence (examples include but are not limited to; assault
or violence, theft or dishonesty, drugs, prohibited or controlled weapons).
individuals with a criminal conviction (whether spent or not) or finding of guilt recorded against them since 1996
may be ineligible to work in the security industry in WA. Before enrolling in a security course with a registered
training organisation, you may wish to contact WA Police Licensing to ascertain whether you are eligible to be
issued with a licence to work in the security industry.
have successfully completed the training
When applying for your Security Licence you must provide the following information with your application
complete the training requirements and attach proof of qualifications including current First Aid
complete the CF2 Application for a (Non-Agent) Licence form
provide 2 personal character references
4 passport size photographs
provide 2 forms of identification of the following (passport, drivers licence, birth certificate/extract or proof of age
care
overseas police clearance (required if not a resident of Australia for last 5 years)
pay the appropriate licence fee (fees are listed on the WA Police Licensing website)
pay the fingerprinting fee of $100.00
