This position description serves as the official classification document of record for this position. Please complete the information as accurately as you can as the position description is used to determine the proper classification of the position.

Position will function as Storekeeper. Responsible for providing Commissary, Food, and Warehouse Services to Woodland Correctional Facility. General Warehouse Functions: To order, receive, warehouse and distribute food commodities. Other duties include: Performing general warehouse related activities as assigned by the departmental supervisor.This position reports to work outside the secure perimeter of Woodland Center Correctional

Facility Warehouse. This position will have direct contact with prisoners from a Multi-level State Correctional Facility at times, overseeing and directing the work of prisoner work cews, enforcing the facility's rule and has direct participation in the disciplinary process of prisoners.

Employee requires mandatory training due to prisoner contact and supervision. This is a Drug and Alcohol Random Test designated position.

Duty 1

General Summary: Percentage: 30

Responsible for providing Warehouse Services, such as: Delivery and pick up of warehouse orders, direct shipments of material, equipment and commodities to Woodland Center Correctional Facility. This position will oversee and direct the work of prisoner work crews.

Individual tasks related to the duty:

• Order and Receive Items to be delivered to the warehouse including using the SIGMA computer system

• Monitor prisoners restocking orders into secure carts

• Verification of goods for delivery

• Proper address and location for delivery

• Maintain accuracy, quality, quantity, damage control

• Maintain proper stock rotation of all food products utilizing the FI-FO system

• Daily observation and recording of cooler and freezer thermostats to ensure proper temperatures

• Handle dangerous material

• Stock items appropriately, rotating, if necessary

• Monitor security coded items

• Supervise prisoners loading/unloading deliveries

• oversee and direct the work of prisoner work crews

• Maintain a valid driver’s license

• Conform to all Motor Carrier rules and regulations

• Maintain emergency paper supply

• Maintain all logs and records as required

• Maintain proper paperwork as required, i.e. Commodities Receiver Log, Problem Log, Resolution Log, etc. Duty 2

General Summary: Percentage: 35

Maintains, organizes, and distributes clothing according to department standards. Maintains QM inventories, prisoner inventories, and coordinates office clothing. This position will oversee and direct the work of prisoner work crews. Individual tasks related to the duty:

• Order Officer clothing as approved

• Order, issue, and maintain prisoner clothing, shoes, bed rolls, and commodity inventory

• Collect, count, record, and send prisoner outgoing laundry

• Receive and disperse prisoner incoming laundry

• Complete, submit, and maintain all records as required

• Receives request for state issue clothing, verifies and distributes.

• Maintains inmate quartermaster files Duty 3

General Summary: Percentage: 25

General store related delivery functions. Individual tasks related to the duty:

• Create a weekly store delivery schedule for Woodland Center Correctional Warehouse

• Collect prisoner personal store orders, checks order sheets for accuracy, forward to Regional Store.

• Receive the prisoner personal store orders from the Regional Store, check orders for accuracy

• If delivery problem occurs, communicate problem to the Regional Store, ensure corrective action is complete, follow through, make sure re-delivery is correct

• Distribute prisoners personal store orders upon arrival

• Maintain proper paperwork as required, i.e. Commodities Receiver Log, Problem Log, Resolution Log, etc.

Any other duties or related activities as assigned by the department supervisor, which includes, but not limited to: Individual tasks related to the duty:

• Fill in or assist in various warehouse departments as needed including quartermaster and store operations

• Drive trucks with a GVW under 26,000 lbs to make deliveries as needed

• Drive lift trucks

• Comply with Policy Directive

• Maintain proper Tool Control Logs

• Monitor prisoner workers to ensure compliance with policy, procedure and rules

• Order miscellaneous supplies for WCC when necessary

• Order / maintain Office Max items

• Forward relevant invoices to Central Region Warehouse

• Complete, submit, and maintain all records as required

Environmental conditions may include all weather conditions that exist in any particular season as travel between Woodland Center Correctional Warehouse and Woodland Center Correctional Facility is a daily activity.

Pressure of working with and around prisoners on a full time on-going basis.

Decisions that affect the total outcome of the warehouse operations, institution, as well as possible conflicts with procedure, safety and/or security as well as applicable regulatory standards, i.e. request for disciplinary action, schedule changes 17. All day to day operational decisions are based on experience, background, judgment and procedures. Those affected include the prisoner population, as well as others associated with the operation of Woodland Center Correctional Warehouse.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma

26. What are the minimum education and experience qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of this position.

Three years of experience in the storage, handling, and distribution of materials, or in the operation of mail handling and sorting machines, and related equipment, including two years equivalent to the Storekeeper E6.

EXPERIENCE:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to operate computer terminals in an accurate and precise manner.

• Thorough knowledge of established inventory control and security procedures.

• Ability to plan, organize and follow written and oral instructions.

• Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing

• The function of the work area is to provide goods and services to Woodland Correctional Facility.

• The position Storekeeper / Driver is responsible for receiving and deliveries, assist and to fill in for general warehouse activities.

25. What is the function of the work area and how does this position fit into that function?

This position will have to learn the SIGMA computer system to place orders and make deliveries to the facility. This position will oversee and direct the work of prisoner work crews. Woodland Correctional Facility now sends out laundry to MSI thus requiring laundry transport in/out of the facility.

• Responsible for maintaining, organizing, and distributing laundry according to department standards. Maintains and distributes QM inventories, prisoner inventories, and coordinates officer clothing.

• Responsible for all the general store related delivery functions.

• Assist with warehouse duties, i.e. delivery and pick up of warehouse orders, direct shipments of material, equipment, and commodities to Woodland.

• Assist with the food deliveries to Woodland, i.e. ensuring the deliveries are made in a timely manner,

several times daily.

• Overseeing and directing the work of prisoner work crews at Woodland Center Correctional Warehouse

operations.

• Understand, interpret, and direct operations through application of departmental and agency policies and procedures.

• Any other duties or related activities as assigned by the department supervisor.

This position was downgraded to recall an employee from layoff and would like to reclassify back to the Storekeeper A7 position. This position will take on all roles and responsibility of a Storekeeper A7. Overseeing and directing the work of prisoner work crews at Woodland Center Correctional Warehouse operations.
