Hope everyone had a great summer! Thanks to the volunteers over the summer who did the events and projects that we had going and ongoing. We will be looking hard at doing some work on the clubhouse in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled on our website and Facebook page if you can help. If you would like to be on our email help list then let one of the officers know. Keeping our trail system the best takes a lot of work so if you can spare some time please join us, you won’t regret it. You get a warm cozy feeling inside when the day is done. There is plenty more to read on here so I will shut up now. See ya in the woods!

Calling all members, I have begun preparations for the 2015 Grass Drags SOS food booth!

Some key points I would like to put out there. My job has changed in the last year causing me to travel a lot and be very busy; also Lisa Charrette has also changed jobs making her schedule very busy with odd hours. This year Lisa will only be advising for me and I want to thank her for her many many years and heavy commitment to the event and our club!

That being said I will be looking for all kinds of help this year before, during and after the event. We are also in a position of losing our trailer storage location as Scott Torrey is selling and moving North. He is working on arrangements for the trailers but it is still in the air at this time. Also thank you to Scott for the use of his property for many years!

Please let me know if you can help in any way. The dates for all major parts are on the web and on the event page. You can respond to the event on FB or contact me directly smpinard@roadrunner.com.

Vice PRESIDENT'S REPORT, SEAN PINARD continued

For those working the event, I caught some grief last year (all in good fun) on the booth apparel. I purchased a matching orange sweatshirt, as it can be cold down there. I will do my normal order of orange t shirts for the event within the next few weeks and can order sweatshirts if anyone wants them. I am keeping it simple with 1 style standard crew style, orange with our logo. Current price is $14.00 each with a couple dollars for XXL and bigger. I also use mine for trail work. If you are interested please let me know and I will compile a list for an order. If I see a large qty coming in I will set up a line on square for payment. Or you can send a check to the club if you prefer. To add to this if you have kids looking for a t-shirt or sweat shirt the prices are the same. Just let me know and the size.

We will be having a Clubhouse cleanup Saturday Sept 12

th

. 9:00 am. We will be looking

for as much help as possible for larger jobs outside as well as cleaning and organizing for

the upcoming season. We will be working on the well and septic as well as moving chips

to key area’s in the trail system. All levels of assistance will be needed. Please check your

schedules and let us know if you can help. We will try to do something for lunch if we

have an idea how many will be coming. We may be doing some building so bring tools if

you have them.

Please respond to scruboakscramblers@gmail.com or you can contact Sean Pinard @

603-785-4907 or via e-mail @smpinard@roadrunner.com. Thank you and we look forward to

seeing you there.

Welcome back fellow sledders’ and trail users. We are excited and looking forward to this upcoming winter season. As in years past our goal is to improve on the trails to be the best they can be. As usual there will be a few subtle changes around our system this season and maybe even a new trail (pending landowner permission).

As I have stated year after year, Please Stay on Trail. There have been numerous landowner complaints about off trail riders last year. This is putting us in jeopardy of losing trails and it is making it more difficult to get new landowners permissions. Remember It Is not our land or our right to ride on others people’s property. It is a privilege. We should be thanking our landowners not irritating them. STAY ON THE TRAIL. Sorry for the rant but some just do not get it or care. We have also been working with Fish and Game to help educate these few people.

We are always looking for more volunteer Trail Patroller’s. If you are interested in joining our program Please contact myself for more information.

This off season we are fortunate enough to have some more wood chips given to the club. Last year we had put chips over a couple of really rocky areas and it seemed to work well. We are in need of a couple of dump trucks to help move these chips. If you can help out with hauling, please contact myself or any board member.

Membership 2015-2016 – Brian Wade

MEMBERS,

As we enter our forty third season, the Board of Directors would like to thank all of the club members for making the Scrub Oak Scramblers Snowmobile Club the club that it is today.

The Board of Directors and Committee chairs have been hard at work since early spring and through the summer planning for a great riding season. There are many great club activities planned for this year’s riding season.

As we look ahead it’s time to renew our memberships. Our club is possible through the hard work of our membership and membership dues. This season our dues structure will be follow the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association State Wide Snowmobile Club Fee Structure of $35.00 per membership. A membership can include up to two adults in a household and the children within that household. (All snowmobile clubs in the state of New Hampshire will be charging a $35.00

membership fee) You will no longer receive a membership card. You will now receive a voucher for a reduced registration fee to be presented when you register your snowmobiles in the State of New Hampshire. This will be emailed to you by the club this season. Unless you request otherwise. Also you will be asked for your date of birth for tracking purposes only.

We encourage each one of you to renew now via check. Renewing via check ensures that your dues in full go to support club activities. You may choose to renew via SQUARE online, however remember there is a fee to the club, also you may choose to renew when you register your sled. (AT SELECT VENDORS) Renewing when you register may also incur a vendor fee of $2-$3 additional. What your dues do for you and the SOSSC:

$10.00 goes to the NHSA for membership & your subscription to Snow Traveler Magazine. (Early renewal ensures a subscription)

$25.00 goes to support SOS activities, open houses, work parties, grooming/ trail conservation, the clubhouse, & Family events.

Remember our club is active year round, fundraising, socializing, and working on our trail system. Please keep an eye on our website www.sossc.com for more upcoming events as well as our facebook page & twitter.

Again, thank you for your support & the Board of Directors look forward to seeing each one of you again this season!
