Example Tags

Tagging and Preparing Items For The Sale

After your tags are printed, cut them out with scissors. Attach each tag to the appropriate item with clear packing tape, blue painters tape (for books only) or a safety pin for costumes. Good packaging and labeling will help sell your toys and guard against items being lost.Any item that does not pass our quality standards will not be put out for sale.

● All price tags should be SECURELY attached with CLEAR PACKING TAPE COVERING THE TOP OF THE TAG.

● DO NOT cover the barcode with tape of any kind.

● Place all tags visibly on the outside front or top of the item.

● If items are placed in Ziplock bags, the tag must be taped to the OUTSIDE of the bag. ● Safety pins may be used to attach price tags to soft items such as costumes or items

where tape will not stick. DO NOT USE STRAIGHT PINS to attach tags to clothing. ● All clothing (Halloween/dress-up costumes, sports & spirit wear) MUST BE HUNG ON

HANGERS. See examples 1 & 2 below for correct hanging & tagging procedure.

● All shoes and cleats MUST BE held together using a cable tie. Tape the tag to the sole of the shoe if possible. If shoes cannot be held together with a cable tie, you may place them in a Ziplock bag and tape the tag to the outside of the bag. See examples 3 & 4 below.

(8)

Example 1 – With clothing facing you…

Example 3 – Shoes cable tied together Example 4 – Shoes in Ziplock bag

Tag should be taped to sole of shoe

Several small toys (small action figures, dolls, cars, books, etc.) may be packaged together and sold as one item or a “grab bag”. Items being sold together must be firmly bound together and clearly labeled as such.

WOODEN BOARD puzzles (Melissa & Doug, etc.) should be assembled on the board and TIGHTLY wrapped in clear plastic wrap or plastic bags and SECURELY sealed shut with clear packing tape.

DO NOT TAPE GAME OR CARDBOARD PUZZLE BOXES (100 pieces or less) CLOSED. Pieces will be counted.

(9)

We HIGHLY SUGGEST packaging your books together in bundles in order to increase the likelihood of them selling. When packaging multiple books together, place them in a Ziplock bag. Tape the tag to the outside of the bag. Also include the number of books on the item description. For one book please use blue painters tape on the top and bottom of the tag. The painters tape will not damage the book.

When using plastic bags for packaging, the bags should also be sealed shut with clear packing tape.

All electronic toys will be tested for quality before placement on the sales floor. Electronic items may sell better with batteries in them.

Seller Receiving/Dropping Off Items

Drop off will take place Thursday, October 11 5:00pm-8:00pm and Friday, October 12 8:30am-2:00pm. Go directly to the gym door at Beebe Elementary. Sellers will check-in. All items must be tagged using our consignment software. Sellers will pay registration fee at this time if records show outstanding. Sellers must turn in the signed seller agreement. Sellers requesting payment to be mailed must drop off a self addressed stamped envelope including the seller number.

Frequently Asked Questions What is the Toy Resale?

(10)

The toy resale is a community garage sale that benefits Beebe Home & School. Think of going to 100 garage sales under one roof. Sellers will receive 60% of the sales made from their items, Beebe Home & School will receive 40%.

Who benefits from the Toy Resale?

Everyone! Sellers are able to rid their house of older toys knowing that another child will be able to get more use out of them while making money in the process.

Beebe Home & School is able to give back to the school through field trips, books for the Learning Commons and classrooms, author events, etc. And buyers will be able to get lots of new toys for a great deal!

Who can sell? Who can buy?

Anyone can sell as long as they sign up for an account onwww.BeebeToyResale.com. And anyone can buy. This sale is open to the public and we will be advertising it heavily! We will need your help in spreading the news about the event too!

How does it work? How do I get a seller number?

Seller registration opens Friday, September 7th and runs through Friday, October 12th at noon. You can create an account and register as a seller atwww.BeebeToyResale.com. Seller

guidelines and information on how to use our online computerized tagging/tracking system will be available to you on the website. There will be a $5 registration fee charged to each seller to participate in the sale.

Am I donating my items to Beebe to sell?

NO! You are joining a fund-raising project for the school but our goal is for you to make money as well. Toy resales tend to raise more funds than a garage sale.

Will you limit the number of sellers?

No. We welcome anyone who has great toys to sell. How do I price my items?

The price is up to you. Please remember that you are selling a used toy and you benefited from the toy as a new product. A good rule of thumb is to price the item at 1/3 to 1/4 of the retail value. Resale shoppers are a shrewd bunch so if you want your item to sell, price wisely. How do I package my items for sale?

Packaging your item is very important! If you have the original box for your item, please use it. If not, please use clear zip-lock bags that can be securely closed and sealed using clear packing tape. For example, if you have a large item, like a Little People castle, put all of the accessories to the castle in a bag and tape it with clear packing tape to the castle and price both items (i.e., 1 of 2, 2 of 2 on the tag). This will ensure that the items stay together and the buyer can see everything that’s included in their purchase. All clothing (Halloween costumes, dress-up, sports uniforms and Beebe spirit wear) will need to be on a hanger with the tag on the right

(11)

side of the item. We will have examples in the seller guidelines. All shoes need to be zip tied together or secured in a Ziplock bag.

What is the drop off process?

On Thursday evening, October 11th from 5:00pm-8:00pm and again on Friday, October 12th from 8:30am-2:00pm, we will have seller drop off. Everything will be inspected after you drop off your toys so you need to make sure that all of your items are in good selling condition; battery operated items are in working order (we will check!); puzzles (under 100 pieces) and games will be counted to make sure everything is in the box; clothing will be inspected to make sure it’s not stained. When packing items up, think if you’d buy it if it was stained or items were dirty or missing?

What happens to any of my items that do not meet the quality check?

Items that are rejected due to lack of cleanliness, missing pieces, non-functioning battery operated toys will not be put out for sale. Your items will be returned to you along with any other unsold items during check & toy pick-up on Sunday, October 14th.

What is the pick-up process and when do I get my check?

On Sunday, October 14th from 10:00am to 11:30am, we will be at Beebe for toy/check

pick-up. Sellers must come to pick up checks along with any toys that did not sell at the event. If you want to skip the pick-up process and donate all of your unsold toys to charity, make sure to give us a self-addressed, stamped envelope when you drop off your toys for the sale. We’ll mail it to you the week after the sale.

Can I donate my earnings back to Beebe?

Yes, however you will still need to pick up your check and sign it over to Beebe. We need to have one process to keep things orderly.

Tell me about volunteering

Anyone who volunteers 2 or more hours of their time to the resale will be eligible to shop at the sale before it is open to the public. Volunteers are needed for various shifts/tasks during the weekend of the sale (Thursday, October 11th through Monday, October 15th). If you’d like to volunteer, you can register atwww.BeebeToyResale.com.

Where can I view the seller agreement?

The seller agreement will need to be electronically signed when you register to sell. Click Here

to download and review the agreement online.
