Monday:  Introduction and Welcome to RJTC 

1. Introduce myself to students 

2. Handout out Index Card –Provide Instruction for proper completion 

3. Handout Information packets and provide instruction for proper completion 

4. AM: Student will assist in setting up PCs in the curriculum Lab 

5. Advanced students will complete the wiring of the CAT 5 cables 

6. PC techs will be deployed to Medical Office/ Criminal Justice  classroom to begin setting up PCs  

7. PM: Students will be given instruction Blogs/Wikis/ and setting up email accounts for wikis and 

blog permissions. 

8. Student Orientation Meeting 9:30am and 1:00pm 

9. Student will participate in an interactive discussion on classroom safety and rules   

Tuesday: 

      1) Enroll students ‐ Haiku LMS 

     2) Navigate through LMS and become familiar with Calendar, Discussion, Quiz, Test Pages       3) Enroll students ‐ Aries Networking Academy Portal 

     4) Navigate through the portal and complete the tutorial section   

Students will be given materials on safety and will be ask to read materials provided and be prepared to 

discuss materials in an interactive lecture/discussion 

1) Students will take a Safety Test and all students must make 100% 

2) Students will complete all uncompleted paperwork. 

3) Students will be enrolled into the Aries academy‐ Usernames and Passwords will be distributed 

4) Instruction will be given on how to navigate through the curriculum and test site.

1) Lesson 6 –– “ Power Supply Basics” ‐  

2) Skill Base Lab – Identify the parts of a Computer‐  

a. Students will be given a PC and be ask to identify the following: Chassis, Power Supply 

b. CD Rom, HDD, FDD, Motherboard, NIC, Modem, Expansion Slot, Front Panel Bezel Fans, 

CPU and Heat Sink

1) Lesson 8 –– “Power Supply Specifications” ‐  

2) Lesson 9 – “ Problem Causing Power Events” ‐  

3) Skill Base Lab‐ Calculating the power specifications of various Power Supplies 

a. Students will be given three different power supply and be ask to calculate the power 

rating of the given power supplies’ 

b. Students will use Ohms Law and a calculator to calculate their findings, they will turn in 

their results to the instructor.
