What does SLOW Lounge offer?
As a Platinum card holder you can experience a place where the stress of traveling is momentarily forgotten.
SLOW Lounge offers the following: • Seasonal freshly prepared food
• An exclusive coffee blend, prepared by a barista
• A business centre - a work environment of the highest standard (complimentary Wi-Fi access, printing and faxing facilities)
• A library filled with recreational and business books for your reading pleasure • Private marble washrooms
• An Amani spa offering, where you can receive a complimentary 15-20 minute treatment before your flight
Is entry into the SLOW Lounges only for FNB Platinum clients?
No. SLOW Lounge facilities are not exclusive to FNB Platinum cardholders and may also be used by qualifying FNB Business Platinum, FNB Business Black, FNB Platinum, FNB Private Wealth, and RMB Private Bank cardholders, British Airways Executive Club members as well as British Airways Business Class passengers.
What qualifying criteria do I have to meet to access the SLOW Lounges?
There are certain qualifying criteria to be met each month which will determine whether your visit will be FREE, or whether your visit will be charged for.
Access to the SLOW Lounges are based on the same qualifying criteria as eBucks
Rewards.
To qualify is simple:
1. You need to be on eBucks rewards level 1 or above to meet the requirements below to qualify to be on a rewards level: 2. Have an active FNB Platinum Cheque Account in Good Standing*: • FNB Platinum Account • FNB One Account • FNB Islamic Platinum Account • FNB Encore Platinum Account* “Good standing” means that none of your FNB and FirstRand Bank accounts and credit agreements should be overdrawn, or be in arrears, or be in default, nor should the account holder be undergoing sequestration, or be subject to any legal process with FNB or FirstRand Bank as defined in our terms and conditions.
3. Have total monthly deposits of at least R16 500 (R5 500 for Young Professionals) or maintain a minimum monthly balance of R50 000 (R25 000 for Platinum Encore) in a Platinum Cheque Account
4. Transact once a month using: • FNB Banking App • Online Banking • Cellphone Banking or • Telephone Banking
If you have BOTH a Platinum Cheque Account and Platinum Credit Card and are on reward level 1 or above, you will receive 2 FREE visits including guests for the month which can only be used to access the SLOW Domestic Lounges. No guests are allowed during peak periods.
If you ONLY have a Platinum Cheque account OR Platinum Credit Card and your accounts are active and in good standing* then a fee of R250 per person will be charged. No guests will be allowed during peak times.
PLEASE NOTE when we refer to the qualifying criteria in this document we are referring to the above criteria.
In order to qualify and get FREE access to the SLOW Lounges, do I need to meet the
qualifying criteria each month?
Yes. You need to meet the qualifying criteria each month. Free entries are allocated only when the client holds BOTH a FNB Platinum Cheque account and FNB Platinum Credit Card.
How many FREE visits can I get if I have BOTH Platinum Cheque Account and
a Platinum Credit Card?
As long as you meet the qualifying criteria you get 2 free visits to the SLOW Domestic Lounge, including guests per month. All free entries will be allocated at main customer level and can be used/access by any card (cheque, credit or additional credit card). No additional free visits apply.
How many FREE visits can I get if I ONLY have a Platinum Credit Card?
No free visits. If the client meets the qualifying criteria, they may make use of SLOW Domestic Lounges and SLOW International at the qualifying fee of R250. No guest will be allowed during peak times.
How many FREE visits can I get if I ONLY have a Platinum Cheque Account?
No free visits. If the client meets the qualifying criteria, they may make use of SLOW Domestic Lounges and SLOW International at the qualifying fee of R250. No guests will be allowed during peak times.
How can I benefit the most from the SLOW Domestic Lounges?
You will benefit the most by having both a Platinum Cheque Account and a Platinum Credit Card. If you meet the Lounges qualifying criteria and hold both these products, you could qualify for free visits to the SLOW Domestic Lounge.
As a Platinum cardholder, do I have access to SLOW in the City?
Yes. As a Platinum cardholder you get access to SLOW in the City for a fee of R125 per cardholder, including 2 free guests per visit per day.
As a Platinum cardholder, do I have access to SLOW International?
Yes. As a Platinum cardholder you get access to SLOW International for a fee of R250 per cardholder and R50 per child (between the ages of 2 and 18) if you meet the qualifying criteria.
Will I always be charged for access to SLOW International?
Yes. Use of the SLOW International Lounge is always subject to a fee but you will qualify for the discounted fee of R250 per person per visit (or R50 per child) if you are a Platinum cardholder and meet the qualifying criteria. If you do not meet the qualifying criteria you will be charged in full at R500 per person per visit, which applies to children as well.
Does it matter which card I use to enter the SLOW Lounges?
No. You can enter the SLOW Lounges on either your Platinum Cheque Card or Platinum Credit Card.
Can I still get access even though I do not meet the qualifying criteria for FREE access to
the SLOW Domestic Lounges and SLOW International Lounge?
Yes. The entry fee for SLOW Domestic Lounges is R250 and R500 for SLOW International.
So ‘access to SLOW Lounges’ does not mean it’s FREE?
Yes. “Access to SLOW Lounges”, does not mean it’s free. As an FNB Platinum Cardholder you have “access” to the lounges, but you need to hold BOTH a FNB Platinum Cheque account and FNB Platinum Credit Card. In addition you need to meet the qualifying criteria which will now be based on the same qualifying criteria as eBucks Rewards.
Is access to SLOW Domestic and International Lounges guaranteed?
No. Capacity in the lounges is uncertain; the SLOW Lounges can get especially full during peak travelling times when flights are full or if there have been flight delays, so there is no guarantee for entry and this can only be determined by the SLOW lounge staff at the time of entry.
SLOW reserves the right to decline entry should any of the lounges be full and access is subject to availability, Should lounge capacity be reached FNB Private Wealth, RMB Private Bank and FNB Business Black customers will be granted preferential access.
Is there a restriction on the number of visits that I can make?
Yes. There is a restriction of free visits per calendar month as a Platinum cardholder when qualifying criteria are met. If you have visited the lounge more than your number of free visit allocations as mentioned below you will be charged at R250 per person per visit at SLOW Domestic Lounges.

Am I limited on the time I can spend in the SLOW lounge?
Yes. Our SLOW Lounges have turned out to be so immensely popular, that we have to introduce a capacity management system to ensure that lounge volumes are not in excess of occupancy. Our aim is to provide more customers the opportunity to experience the luxury lounge. In order to achieve this, from 1 July 2015 access to all SLOW Domestic Lounges will now be limited to 90 minutes before boarding time. Take note there is no limit on the time spent at SLOW International and SLOW in the City.
When are SLOW peak times?
There are peak and off-peak times for SLOW Domestic Lounges. Peak times include Monday to Friday 04h45-07h00 and again between 13h00-17h30 and Sunday 15h00-17h30.
All other times not specified above are deemed off-peak times.
How do SLOW peak times affect me?
No guests will be allowed to accompany the cardholder into the SLOW Domestic Lounges during peak times.

Where are the SLOW Domestic, SLOW International Lounges and SLOW
in the City located?
SLOW Domestic Lounges are located in the Domestic terminals at OR Tambo, King Shaka and Cape Town International Airports. SLOW International is located in the International departures terminal at OR Tambo International Airport. SLOW in the City is located at the corner of Rivonia and West Street, Sandton, Gauteng (opposite the Sandton Gautrain station).
Why are these rules in place?
The rules were introduced to encourage clients to use FNB as their main bank and make use of their FNB Cards as a primary means of transacting. Also, in order to maintain the exclusive and up-market experience that our SLOW
How will SLOW Billing work?
Any applicable charges will be made to the respective Platinum Cheque or Platinum Credit Card swiped at the lounge.
Are staff employed at the SLOW Domestic and SLOW International Lounges also
staff of FNB?
No. Staff working at the SLOW Lounges are not employees of FNB, they do not have access to FNB’s systems and they cannot assist you with account queries or any other information related to your banking. Therefore they cannot tell you if you qualify for any free visits based on your personal banking profile.
What else do I need to know about SLOW?
SLOW Lounge Access Rules:
• NEW - All qualifying cheque and credit cardholders who have access to SLOW Domestic Lounges will only be allowed to enter 90 minutes before their boarding time.
• NEW - Should the lounge capacity be reached, FNB Business Black, FNB Private Wealth and RMB Private Bank customers will be granted preferential access.
• All your entries into the SLOW Lounges are non-transferable. All unused visits will not roll over to the next month. • Any additional entries (in excess of those mentioned above) will be charged for. • Access will only be permitted on presentation and swiping of applicable card by the cardholder. • Only valid cards will be accepted. No expired cards will be accepted. • Only one card will be permitted per cardholder per visit and must be accompanied by a boarding pass. • Both the card and the boarding pass must be issued in the same individual’s name. • SLOW reserves the right to decline entry should any of the lounges be full. Access is subject to availability, according to SLOW Lounge capacity and safety rules.
• SLOW reserves the right of admission and retains the right to deny access should they deem necessary.
• Cardholders under the age of 18 years will not be permitted access unless accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 years.
• Children older than 2 years old may access the SLOW Domestic Lounge according to main cardholder access criteria and fees.
• All FREE entries will be allocated at main client level and can be used/ accessed by any card (Cheque, Credit or additional Credit Card).
