(11)

Access Management Utility

To start with, each Principal only gets access to AMU for their

own school

This is used to manage

who is allowed to

authorise what system

This is used to manage

who is allowed to use OASIS Thin Client

This is used to manage

who is allowed to use

the SMU tool For non-eT4L schools,

this is used to manage

install software from

the CPC server. For

eT4L schools, it identifies which staff groups each person

These tick boxes are used to specify which staff can have

access to USE the EMU system via their DET Portal.

This adds an EMU link to each selected person’s portal

Access can be granted and revoked

using this webpage

It is recommended that only select staff

are given access to EMU. As discussed,

an audit trail is maintained for EMU

These tick boxes are used to specify which staff can also suspend a student’s Internet and Email Access using the EMU tool. This would be done

in the case of breaches of the Internet Usage Policy

(13)

AMU Authoriser permissions can be added or revoked using this screen. NOTE the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom – there are more applications

Internet Filter Tools

Web Filter Check is a

handy tool that all staff can

use to see if a website

they’d like to use in class

is blocked or not for their

students.

To find out about how DEC

filters work, click here.

Also provides links to log a

service desk request to

either block or unblock

educational reasons

Enter the exact website

URL to be blocked or

unblocked

Then select whether you’d like

to Allow or Block a specific

emailed to your mailbox

Simply enter as many website URLs

them), one line per URL

(21)

Web Filter Check

For your particular school

type, it will show the

Allow/Block status for that

specified website against

each year group at your

school, plus for staff.

This is general information

about the site, including the

site categories

This is the check report that is

displayed on the screen

While a site may be

unblocked for you, it can

be very frustrating to find

that students cannot

access it in the classroom.

This tool helps avoid that

frustration.
