Nissan Announces Management Changes

Tokyo -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced management changes that become

effective April 1.

“I have full confidence in our new team’s ability to successfully implement the next

chapter of Nissan’s profitable growth, NISSAN Value-Up,” said Nissan president and

CEO Carlos Ghosn.

Kazuhiko Toida, currently responsible for global aftersales, will become head of marketing

and sales for Japan. He will also become chairman of Nissan’s dealer management

committee.

Kimiyasu Nakamura will be in charge of all vehicle design engineering.

In addition, Junichi Endo, Hitoshi Kawaguchi, Minoru Shinohara and Yo Usuba will all be

appointed senior vice presidents as of April 1. Endo, currently president of Autech Japan,

will be responsible for Nissan’s global aftersales division, as well as the company’s

conversion business. Kawaguchi, currently president of Nissan Financial Services, will

take over responsibility for Nissan’s human resources department. Shinohara, in charge

of Nissan Research Center, will become head of Nissan’s advanced vehicle engineering

division. Usuba, general manager of Nissan’s powertrain project planning department,

will become responsible for the powertrain engineering division.

Seven new vice presidents will be appointed as of April 1 (see attached document for

complete list).

Nobuo Okubo, currently executive vice president, will become chief technology officer

from April 1. Norio Matsumura, who will retire on March 31, will become president of

Nissan Prince Osaka. Patrick Pelata, who will return to Renault after March 31, will be

proposed as a non-executive director of Nissan at the company’s shareholders’ meeting

in June.

Senior vice presidents Shuji Yamagata, Shigeo Ishida and Kuniyuki Watanabe, as well as

vice presidents Akira Koyama and Bernard Long, will retire effective March 31. Yamagata

will be proposed as executive vice president of Calsonic Kansei Corp., Ishida will be

proposed as president of JATCO Ltd. and Watanabe will be proposed as vice president

of Kasai Kogyo Co., Ltd., at their respective company’s shareholder meetings. Koyama

will be proposed as executive officer of VANTEC Corp. Long will return to Renault.

Nissan will appoint Hisayoshi Kojima, currently president of JATCO, as a new auditor,

pending approval by Nissan’s shareholders in June.

Auditors Hiroshi Moriyama and Hiroyasu Kan will retire in June.

Following the changes, the total number of Nissan corporate officers, including vice

presidents, is now 44, compared to 42 in 2004.
