Real-life consultancy projects

César Ritz Colleges has developed an initiative giving you the chance to undertake real-life consultancy projects requested by hotels. The first of these projects was launched when we were asked by an Icelandic hotel for help to develop a new marketing strategy. Based on its success, consequent projects have been undertaken, such as in assisting in developing a luxury property in Zermatt, with César Ritz students playing a critical role.

Our three-year Bachelor programme has been developed so that graduates are eligible for several accelerated Master degree programmes, offering you the opportunity to complete both a Bachelor and a Master in just four years instead of the usual five.

to prepare you for success.

In the Leadership Programme you learn, develop and effectively apply the technical and business skills needed, as well as the attitudes and standards that make our graduates so successful. Our Leadership Programme runs throughout the entire course, requiring you to achieve specified outcomes through seminars and community service activities. Therefore, a personal adviser will work with you throughout your journey to help you achieve your ambitions.

The English Foundation Programme offered by SEG, Swiss Education Group on the Le Bouveret Campus is an ideal way to strengthen your English language skills before commencing your academic studies at César Ritz Colleges Switzerland. The length of the programme depends on your personal English level and

motivation, with the main objective of achieving the required score to enter the study programme desired.

START AT THE CAMPUS THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU!

When starting the Bachelor programme, for the first two years you can choose the César Ritz campus that fits you best: tLe Bouveret Campus if you would like to experience the French-speaking part of Switzerland and discover the Lake Geneva region. Le Bouveret is a resort town located on the shores of the lake.

tLucerne Campus if you wish to experience a German-speaking city of Switzerland and major tourism destination. The Lucerne Campus is located in the heart of the city of Lucerne.

In addition to the accreditation by the State of Valais, the Bachelor degree is validated by Washington State University (USA). You will receive both Swiss and American recognized degrees.

The Higher Diploma and Bachelor degrees awarded by César Ritz Colleges Switzerland are accredited by the State of Valais Department of Education, Culture and Sport, Switzerland.

International career trips

Each year, we organize an international career trip so that you can really experience the ‘hotspots’ of the hotel and tourism industry. Designed to inform and inspire career choices, each tour combines a number of behind-the-scenes hotel visits, presentations, interviews with human resources personnel, alumni meetings and educational trips to tourist attractions. It is a great way of giving you first-hand experience of what it would be like to live and work overseas, and an invaluable indicator of whether a particular location is the right place for you to succeed professionally.

Recruiting on campus

Throughout the year both campuses host a wide variety of companies representing over 1,000 hotels, cruise ships and other hospitality organizations.

In 2010, company representatives recruited for around 400 positions exclusively from the ranks of our students and alumni. Participating students received an average of three to four job offers per person!

Twice a year, César Ritz students are given the opportunity to meet with hospitality industry

leaders from around the world at the International Recruitment Forum.

The International Recruitment Forum held

in the Montreux Music and Convention

Centre in October 2011 welcomed 130

recruiters representing 54 companies over

the two days.

The International Recruitment Forum is organized by SEG, Swiss Education Group and takes place in March and October and wel-comes hotel groups, boutique hotels, resorts, airlines, cruise lines and many other hospitality industry groups. With over 50 companies represented, this event is the perfect opportunity to develop your career.

At the Forum, you will attend presentations, meet with industry representatives and can be interviewed and recruited for full-time employment after graduation as well as internship positions. SEG has created this major event after considering industry recommendations, which is one of the reasons the world’s largest hospitality employers do not miss this unique opportunity to come to Montreux to meet the managers of tomorrow.

The birthplace of tourism

Where else study hotel and tourism management than in its birthplace? Switzerland, is often referred to as the birthplace of hospitality. Before becoming “The King of Hoteliers and The Hotelier of Kings”, César Ritz chose to leave his home in Niederwald, just a few kilometers away from Brig, to go abroad to gain knowledge and experience. César Ritz then decided to return to Switzerland and took over the management of the hotel National in Lucerne. His tradition of luxury, excellence and service has set the standard for hotels and restaurants throughout the world.

Le Bouveret Campus – on the shores of Lake Geneva

The Professional Centre César Ritz, is situated in a small French-speaking town and summer resort called Le Bouveret lying conveniently near the major city of Geneva and important towns of Montreux and Lausanne. The campus is located in a magnificent building dating back to the early 1900’s, just minutes from the town centre. Our new campus extension provides 100 fully equipped single superior deluxe rooms and state-of-the-art kitchen facilities.

Brig Campus – at the foot of the Matterhorn

The University Centre César Ritz is situated in the town of Brig-Glis, the largest German-speaking town in the Valais region, with famous ski resorts such as Zermatt and Saas-Fee on its doorstep. Brig’s charming cobblestoned centre is located within walking distance, as well as the central train station where trains can take you to Bern in one hour or to Milan in less than two.

Lucerne Campus – in central Switzerland

The César Ritz Campus is located in the heart of the city of Lucerne in the magnificent ‘Union’ building that was built in the 1900s and that underwent major renovations to welcome students in modern facilities. Lucerne is located on the shores of Lake Lucerne, only 45 minutes away from Zurich by train or by car. Lucerne is a world-renowned tourism destination, known for its culture and modern convention centre.

Academic facilities

The multi-campus approach balances theoretical and practical learning resources in a combination of traditional and state-of-the-art facilities: from the latest PC’s, to projectors and electronic whiteboards in the classroom, right through to lecture theatres, production kitchens, a formal dining room and the campus buildings themselves. Students practise service styles, banquet and event management skills both on and off campus on special occasions and at community service events. Each campus has its own modern library providing access to a vast collection of books and research materials. An innovative online facility allows students to search for and reserve materials, and also offers access to an extensive collection of electronic resources.

Accommodation

Our student accommodation is designed to offer you the comfort and privacy needed in which to study or relax. Bedrooms are spacious, modern and comfortable, many are en-suites with showers, and all are furnished with a desk, office chair, ample storage and wardrobe space.

At the Le Bouveret Campus, double standard rooms are included in the standard package. Brand new single superior deluxe rooms are available at an additional charge.

In Lucerne, the campus offers double standard rooms as well as deluxe rooms right in the heart of the city and only minutes from Lake Lucerne.

In Brig we offer single deluxe and double rooms. Themis & Xenius is our environment-friendly student lodging with 216 single deluxe rooms (included in the fees in Brig). Single superior

We therefore provide you with fully equipped fitness rooms and outdoor sports facilities, including a private football field in Le Bouveret and basketball and volley-ball courts in Brig. Joining a sports team will create new lasting friendships, develop your team spirit skills and keep you fit! Switzerland is famous for its beautiful natural sports playgrounds, all of which are easily accessed from either campus. Its famous mountains, valleys and lakes offer you year-round opportunities for individual and team sporting activities such as sailing, golf, biking, skating and paragliding. During the winter, you can easily reach the ski slopes by car, train or local buses.

The English Foundation Programme offered by Swiss Education Group is an ideal way to strengthen your English language skills before commencing your academic studies at César Ritz Colleges. Your English level will be tested upon arrival using the Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT) in order to tailor the programme to your individual requirements.

The length of the programme depends on your personal English level and motiva-tion, with the main objective of achieving the required score to enter your desired hospitality programme.

The English Foundation Programme runs throughout the year in four-week blocks. You may enter the programme at any point but must complete a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 20 weeks.
