Federal Contracting & Pricing; Finance & OperationsThe McKelvey Group, Inc. (TMG) provided Accounting and Proposal Consulting Services for Adamas Pharmaceuticals (Adamas). Adamas was founded to develop and commercialize novel medications based upon known classes of drugs that have the potential to offer significant clinical benefit over the current standard of care in areas of large unmet need. Our team helped them restructure their accounting systems to capture time and cost for Government contracts. This effort included chart of account updates, indirect rate development, and cost proposal support.
Chevron -
Facilitation & Change Management; Learning & Development; Professional TrainingTMG personnel have performed several engagements with Chevron related to facilitation and training development. The first engagement was a series of internal sessions designed to help senior leaders more effectively communicate. Subsequently we developed a curriculum and series of sessions for trainers to instruct users on retail automation software as part of a national rollout. We worked directly with the company’s internal learning and development team to design the session flow, specific technical exercises, and overall style and tone. Our personnel were then engaged to provide convenience store manager-level training at various locations on the West Coast. We received outstanding evaluation scores and feedback for facilitation of the training and associated results.
CrisisLink -
Finance & OperationsCrisisLink, a non-profit organization, provides immediate help, hope, and healing to empower individuals facing serious life challenges, suicidal thoughts, emotional, or situational problems. The organization is completely funded by grants, government revenue sources, and direct individual donations. In 2010 CrisisLink engaged TMG to manage its finance and accounting operations. TMG updated CrisisLink’s Chart of Accounts, handled all accounting functions, managed payroll, developed the annual budget, and prepared monthly financial reports. In addition, TMG created and documented formal accounting procedures to preserve these improvements. TMG continues to provide bookkeeping services to CrisisLink today.
Department of Agriculture, Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS)

Facilitation & Change ManagementTMG personnel supported NRCS in the development of their agency-wide Balanced Scorecard (BSC) to provide organizational performance measurement and support the strategic plan implementation. We performed two months of detailed analysis, providing a comprehensive view of the NRCS operating environment, current performance measurement practices, information technology framework, and other pertinent implementation considerations. During that analysis, our team met individually with all NRCS top leaders as well as with managers and personnel at all levels. We coordinated and facilitated all decision milestone sessions regarding a set of recommended BSC frameworks. The TMG team facilitated full consensus on a final recommendation, and developed the three-year implementation rollout plan for the entire agency, including information technology and change management recommendations. After the final offsite session, NRCS leadership provided our team feedback that this was one of the most effective consensus building efforts they have ever experienced.

Facilitation & Change Management; Finance & OperationsDimension Data North America (DDNA) engaged our team to provide the business analysis and program management for three system integration projects. DDNA is an information technology integrator that provides Managed Services, IT Consulting, and Networking Hardware resale to Fortune 500 companies. The first project was the integration of the corporate ordering system with Oracle financial tools. Utilizing XML communication the systems were integrated allowing for a 200% increase in order quantity and a 125% increase in order accuracy without any additional headcount. The second project was the integration of the Oracle Financials system with Cisco Systems procurement system. This integration also resulted in significant order capacity and accuracy without headcount increases. The project provided a significant boost in customer satisfaction. The third project was the integration of General Motors, AT&T, and HP’s help desks with the DDNA Managed Services offering. This included links between 14 different IT systems and a total of 6 different companies.
Energizer Battery Manufacturing Inc. -
Federal Contracts & Pricing; Finance & OperationsEnergizer Battery Manufacturing Inc (EBM), the Global R&D Center for Energizer engaged our team to assist EBM in restructuring its Cost Accounting Structure so as to enable EBM to work under a Broad Agency Agreement (BAA) with the Department of Defense Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) to further develop the Thin Cylindrical Iron Disulfide Battery. The primary responsibility was to (1) restructure the cost accounts to be in accordance with the Cost Accounting Standards and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (2) develop and implement timekeeping policies and procedures that comply with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) regulations (3) enable EBM to successfully satisfy the requirements of a DCAA Pre-Award Accounting Survey, and (4) educate researchers and management in the areas government compliance. In addition, we serve as strategic advisers to EBM executive level management in all areas of Federal Contracting and Compliance.

Federal Contracting & Pricing; Finance and OperationsERT is a fast-growing woman-owned Government contractor providing Scientific, Engineering, IT, and Environmental Services to NASA, NOAA, Army, USAID, DOC, USGS, and the DOT. Their customers also include State and Commercial clients. TMG has provided extensive overload support for more than two dozen cost/price proposals. In addition, our team has provided supplemental
accounting and project control support for ERT.

Professional TrainingTMG personnel provide instructor-led classroom and online training seminars for Government contractors. Courses include: DCAA Audit Compliance, Basic Cost Proposals, Intermediate Cost Proposals, Advanced Cost Strategies, Introduction to Government Contracting, and QuickBooks Setup for Government Contractors. Class sizes range from 15-60 attendees for these one and two-day courses. The training is tangible and experientially based to provide attendees with practical, real-world insight.

Learning & Development; Professional TrainingTMG personnel designed and delivered a three-day Conflict Management course for this Federal Agency. Our course focused on providing participants an inclusive workplace that fosters team development, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts. In addition, we delivered our standard course on Facilitation for Leaders & Managers. This course is designed to share the basic best practices in the discipline of facilitation, and how they can drive short and long-term results. Our course is highly experiential, including a number of role playing exercises, real-life situational instruction, and the use of improvisational comedy to highlight and underscore the in the moment nature of facilitation.

M&A, Valuations & FinanceTMG performs business valuations for Houlihan Valuation Advisors (HVA). Accredited Senior Appraisers (ASA) from TMG perform due diligence, research industry and economic trends, develop forecasting models, and provide valuation opinions in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). We’ve created valuation reports for the purchase/sale of businesses, gifts and estate planning, fairness opinions, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), and stock option plans. Our reports offer companies an independent third-party opinion on the value of the business, including any intangible assets.

JB Creative Services -
Finance & OperationsFounded in 2005, JB Creative Services (JBC) is a full-service graphic communications firm providing paper printing, promotional products, apparel, and mailing services. JBC experienced very rapid growth and outgrew their accounting capabilities. TMG was hired in 2011 to manage all accounting operations. After a complete reconciliation of the 2011 books for tax preparation, TMG updated cash, accounting and operational processes to drive efficiency at JBC. Accounting support includes managing payroll and commissions, client invoicing, vendor bill payments, and weekly cash reconciliations. TMG also provides Accounts Receivables collections and billing research/resolution. TMG has successfully managed to organize and maintain JBC’s high transaction volume. The efforts have prepared the company to continue its projected growth and expansion.

Finance and OperationsThis client is a consolidation of three separate business entities. TMG has developed GAAP complaint accounting policies and procedures for monthly accounting as well as the annual consolidation for tax purposes.
Nimbis -
Federal Contracting & Pricing; Finance & OperationsNimbis is a small business government contractor. TMG evaluated and identified the requirements to ensure the Nimbis accounting system was in full compliance with DCAA and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) requirements. After successfully passing its first DCAA accounting system audit, Nimbis outsourced all accounting functions to TMG. We also provide contracts support for new proposals and existing contracts.
Navy Modernization Program -
Facilitation & Change Management; Learning & Development; Professional TrainingTMG supports the NAVSEA 04RP Navy Modernization office in the areas of facilitation, training, and process improvement. TMG works directly with our partner firm, The Bradford Management Group (TBMG) to provide world-class facilitation services with large, multi-organizational meetings, workshops and large sessions. In addition, we provide on-site facilitation for site visits related to process improvement. Federal Contracting & Pricing; Finance & OperationsTMG supports Research Innovations (RI), a small business government contractor, with their accounting operations. TMG set up both QuickBooks and later Deltek as RI’s accounting systems to be in full compliance with DCAA and FAR requirements. TMG handles all accounting, payroll, and cash responsibilities. In addition, TMG handles all contractual matters. When RI pursues new contract opportunities, TMG creates the cost/price volumes. We have helped RI grow from a company with only two employees to now almost twenty.

Learning & Development; Professional Training; Federal Contracting & PricingAs a large, not-for-profit with a small Government contracting arm, Riverside Research (Riverside) engaged TMG to develop DCAA Compliance and Pricing Strategy courses for its personnel. This training was intended to educate commercially trained personnel on DCAA and FAR requirements. TMG also provided consulting support of accounting system and procurement system audit preparation. Additional consulting included reviews of time sheet systems, internal audit functions, and compensation plans.
SCI World Consulting -
Federal Contracting & Pricing; Finance & OperationsTMG provided an acting CFO for SCI World Consulting (SCI) to manage all accounting operations and support business development activities for cost/price volumes. TMG implemented a formal authority matrix, travel and expense policies, purchasing policies, and project profitability tracking. TMG supported more than a dozen large proposals ranging in value from $50 million to $800 million. We also created a formal compensation plan tying together corporate goals and objectives with department and individual contributions/responsibilities.

Federal Contracting & Pricing; Finance and OperationsSystematic USA (SSEUSA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Systematic Group, headquartered in Denmark. SSEUSA provides IT and Healthcare services/solutions to the Federal Government. As a smaller division of a large global organization, SSEUSA managed to remain fully compliant with DCAA/FAR/CAS accounting requirements while fulfilling their Group requirements through significant manual processes. TMG helped SSEUSA implement a DCAA-Compliant online timekeeping solution. TMG also worked with the accounting department to update the chart of accounts, implement job costing in QuickBooks, and formally document their policies and procedures. SSEUSA realized that they needed all of this in place in advance of any audit by the Government. Their foresight allowed them to be operating in full compliance when the first audit was initiated. And through this process, they have remained fully capable of meeting their Group requirements without adding staff.

Federal Contracting & PricingThe USmax Corporation is a small business providing Cyber Security, Infrastructure Management, and Enterprise Application Services to DHS, USCG, CBP, ICE, DOD, and NOAA clients. The company is ISO9001, ISO20000, and CMMI-SVC Level 2 certified. TMG has provided supplemental Pricing support for more than a dozen IDIQ, MAS, RFP, and TO proposals.

Federal Contracting & Pricing; Finance & OperationsVetFed is a small, disabled veteran Government contractor. TMG set up their accounting systems in compliance with DCAA and FAR requirements. We handle all accounting and pricing functions for VetFed. We also created a formal compensation plan structure. In addition, TMG established the indirect rate budget and forecasting methodology.
