The mission of the Peoria Education Foundation is to enrich and support excellence in public education within the
Peoria Unified School District. Since 1987, the Peoria Education Foundation has offered grants to teachers in the Peoria
Unified School District to enhance the educational experience of students. The Foundation is an IRS designated
501(c)(3) which provides scholarships to students and grants to teachers within the district.
Student Scholarships
The Peoria Education Foundation provides two scholarship opportunities to Peoria Unified students. Against All Odds scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who have overcome significant obstacles to complete their high school coursework and plan to continue on with post-secondary educa-tion. Community Service scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence and a strong commitment to the community.
Teacher Grants
Annual grants fund innovative projects that demonstrate the potential to significantly improve student achievement. A committee of business leaders evaluate and select the winning grants with priority going to innovative projects that can be replicated in other classrooms. Funding from the Peoria Arts & Cultural Festival supports arts education opportunities that would not otherwise be available for students.
Peoria Education Foundation
The Peoria Arts & Cultural Festival presented by SkyZone celebrates the thriving art and cultural environment in our schools. All proceeds from the event benefit the Peoria Education Foundation, which supports the Peoria Unified School District.
This event encompasses multiple city blocks surrounding Osuna Park, Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, home of Theater Works, and the Peoria Community Center. Last year’s event attracted more than 14,000 people. Attendees are families with children from across the entire West Valley as well as residents within the Peoria Unified School District who appreciate the arts. Activities include:
