Residing and studying in one of the world’s greatest capital cities is an additional enhancement to your
UCFB experience. Our campus is less than 15
minutes away from Central London, giving you access to a vibrant cultural and social experience. London is the most visited city in the world, home to

The UCFB Certificate in
Sports Management
The UCFB Certificate in Sports Management is a
two week programme which has been designed to provide students with a practical approach to management, underpinned by contemporary business knowledge.
The programme can be used to enhance your current studies at a Higher Education institution or existing knowledge of sports business. This certificate provides the opportunity to study
modules for your personal interest or to develop academic knowledge of a niche subject.
During the programme you will have the opportunity to explore how changing business practices have led to a more dynamic and commercialised industry and examine why organisations and federations need to improve their level of business administration to promote better corporate governance across core business functions.
You will learn by integrating theory with practice and share knowledge and understanding
through discussion and debate. There will be an
exciting range of lectures, guest speakers, group discussion, visits to sports stadia and facilities, and practical sessions.
Lectures, seminars and master class workshops are organised in morning and afternoon sessions to accommodate the delivery of the programme.
The academic components of this certificate will
be assessed and must be successfully passed upon completion of the programme.
Entry Requirements
The UCFB Certificate in Sports Management is
ideal for those who have undertaken at least one year of study at undergraduate level in a business related subject. International students who require
an IELTS must have an overall IELTS score of 6.0.

In the second week of study, you will complete certificates including The Green 4 Solutions
E-communications and CRM Systems Certificate, where you will study the practical application of CRM
systems (Microsoft Dynamics) and gain an understanding of database implementation and management.
The Strategic Business and Leadership Certificate provides a holistic overview of marketing and
communications, international football business revenues, decision making in situations of crisis and the strategic management of stadium facilities and corporate hazards.

Effective coaching is pivotal in enhancing the quality and credibility of the sporting experience.
The UCFB Certificates in Coaching educate
those aspiring towards becoming coaches by developing their technical knowledge.
Throughout your studies, you will gain an
insight into the complexities and diversities of coaching players, and how this may be achieved effectively. Additionally, you will complete
1st4sport Awards in Football Coaching to
achieve FA Coaching awards.
UCFB Certificate in the Theory of
Coaching including 1st4sport Level
1 Award in Coaching Football
This two-week Certificate provides the
opportunity to evaluate and apply coaching theory to a number of physical contexts, maintaining a portfolio of coaching plans to support your learning.
Through your studies you will gain a clear
understanding of your own strengths and weaknesses within coaching and subsequently develop strategies for improvement of technical and behavioural skills relevant to a career in the coaching industry.
You will also complete the 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Football (The FA Level 1 Coaching award). This provides the initial coaching experience and is the most popular
and recognised coaching qualification in the UK. The award provides those new to coaching with
a basic introduction to the concepts of planning, organising and delivering safe coaching
sessions.
Practical session contextualise the training drills introduced in the classroom environment
and key development points are identified. Assessment itself is via a 20 minute practical
coaching session to demonstrate your ability to plan and deliver a safe and effective coaching session.
You will gain experience of:

Level 2 Certificate in Coaching
Football
Successful completion of the UCFB Certificate in the Theory of Coaching, and/or the 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Football (The FA Level 1 Coaching award), can lead to the UCFB
Certificate in Talent Identification.
This three-week qualification will provide you with
a clear understanding of the different performance pathways in a variety of sports and enable you to identify the similarities and differences.
You will develop the ability to identify key talent
within the sporting field and have the knowledge
and networking capacity to feed talent into the appropriate arena whilst understanding how to support athletes’ needs the demands of sport on their lifestyles.
You will also study for and complete the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football (The
FA Level 2 Coaching award). This nationally
recognised qualification will provide candidates
who have an ongoing involvement in football, with the opportunity to gain knowledge of how to effectively plan, deliver and evaluate coaching sessions.
You will be introduced to a number of key theories
pertinent to working with players:
• The roles, skills and qualities of a coach
• Developing session plans
• Awareness of safe and organised activities • Preparation for potential accidents, illnesses
and emergencies • Coaching styles
• Coaching session evaluation and self-reflection
• Fitness and nutrition.
This is in addition to the practical elements which
include attacking, passing, support play, ball
control, goalkeeping, finishing and defensive play.
You will have the opportunity to undertake two observed practical coaching sessions with your and receive feedback based on selected criteria. Following your studies, you will be required to
undertake 12 hours of guided coaching within a
two month period. You will then need to return to
UCFB within six months to complete a final 35
minute assessment to achieve your FA Level 2 award.
