EDUCATION

 PhD - Education Policy and Leadership (expected August 2011) - Quantitative Research Evaluation & Measurement (QREM), The Ohio State University

 Dissertation Title: Understanding Youth Gang Resistance: Competing Structural Equation Models. Summary: Using the G.R.E.A.T data (n=3859), 8th grade gang resistance is examined through attachment theory. Predictors include attachment to parents, attachment to education, proclivity for risk, drug use, high risk deviance (i.e. drug dealing, using firearms against others), and positive peer influence. Indirect effects are tested for significance through bias adjusted bootstrap methods.
