How does iTel Data Backup work

iTel Data Backup provides an excellent facility to the user for taking back up of their data from the billing interface. Using this facility, billing user can take an instant back up of their database from both main and replication servers. User can also schedule a backup time as per their wish and system will take back up automatically as per user’s given time.

Managing data backup

 Login into the billing to manage data backup system. Now go to ‘Users And Other Settings’ and then ‘Manage Data System’. Click on the ‘Data Backup’menu.

Now select ‘Data Backup ‘option by which you can take backup from Main server as well as from Backup server. Backup taking options can be scheduled or manual.

 After clicking on the ‘Data Backup’ option, you will get two options.

a) Backup from Main Server: This is the master server to take back up of client, PIN, rate, route and successful CDR.

b) Backup from Backup Server: This is the backup server where data is inserted from main server in real time. If you select the backup server then all data backups will be taken from backup server.

You can take the backup from Main server as well as from Backup server. Backup taking options can be scheduled or manually.

 Here you need to schedule your backup. Under ‘Backup Schedule’ option, you will get 3 options. a) Never: Schedule backup disabled

b) Daily: Set time to take automatic backup. The time format is for 24 hours.

c) Weekly: Set the time and day to take the backup in a specific day. You can select the option as per your requirement.

d) Under ’Backup Data’, You will get two options.

1) Main: This will be the main database where all clients, PIN, rate and routing information exist. 2) CDR: The successful CDR exists in that database. You can define no of days to take the backup for

reseller and PIN call records.

Please select any of the option and click on the ‘Submit’ button to save your settings. Beside ‘Submit’ button, there is another option, ‘Instant Backup’. If you want to take the backup manually, you can click on that button to take an instant backup according to current settings.

How to take Instant Data Backup

You can take instant backup from both main server and backup server

Instant backup from main server:

To take instant back up from main server, please follow the below steps:

1. Select ‘Main Server’.

2. Click on ‘Weekly’ button if you want to take data backup weekly. Also, schedule time and day for the data backup process.

3. Main: Put a tick mark if you want to take the backup for clients, PIN, rate, account balance etc. 4. CDR: Put a tick mark if you want to take the backup of successful call records.

5. Day: For successful CDR you need to mention the number of days. For example, if you put 30 days, then the system will take backup for 30 days CDR.

6. Instant Backup: Click on ‘Instant Backup’ option to take the backup immediately.

How to take Instant Data Backup

You can take instant backup from both main server and backup server

Instant backup from main server:

To take instant back up from main server, please follow the below steps:

1. Select ‘Main Server’.

2. Click on ‘Weekly’ button if you want to take data backup weekly. Also, schedule time and day for the data backup process.

3. Main: Put a tick mark if you want to take the backup for clients, PIN, rate, account balance etc. 4. CDR: Put a tick mark if you want to take the backup of successful call records.

5. Day: For successful CDR you need to mention the number of days. For example, if you put 30 days, then the system will take backup for 30 days CDR.

6. Instant Backup: Click on ‘Instant Backup’ option to take the backup immediately.

Instant backup from backup server:

Similarly, you can take the backup from backup server also. Please follow the below mentioned steps:

1. Select ‘Backup server’.

2. Click on ‘Weekly’ button if you want to take data backup weekly. Also, schedule time and day for the data backup process.

3. Main: Put a tick mark if you want to take the backup for clients, PIN, rate, account balance etc. 4. CDR: Put a tick mark if you want to take the backup of successful call records.

5. Day: For successful CDR you need to mention the number of days. For example, if you put 30 days, then the system will take backup for 30 days CDR.

6. Instant Backup: Click on ‘Instant Backup’ option to take the backup immediately.

Scheduled Data Backup

To take schedule backup, please follow the below steps:

Scheduled backup from the main server

1. Select Server: Main server. 2. Backup Schedule: Daily.

3. Backup Time: The time format is hour:minute. Example: if you want to take the backup midnight everyday, then put them like: 00:00

4. Main: Put a tick mark if you want to take the backup of clients, PIN, rate, account balance etc. 5. CDR: Put a tick mark if you want to take the backup of successful call records.

6. Submit: press submit to save the settings.

Scheduled backup for main server is activated and the system will take the backup automatically as per your mentioned time.

The same process will be repeated for taking backup in weekly basis. For this, you just need to mention exact time and day on which you need to run the backup process.

Data Backup Status

If data backup only for Main server then you will get only one table: Main Server. Here main server and backup server status showing into two tables.

If real time backup system is not working in the backup server then you will get status as “Broken”.

How to Download the Backup file

Taken backup file will be downloadable from the below URL which will visible in the same panel.

Click on the backup file name to download it into your pc.
