To find the bank routing number for your old account, look at the bottom of your checks for a series of numbers that looks like this:

Bank routing numbers are the first nine digits of this series and they begin with a number between 01 and 12 or 21 and 32.

Here are a few simple forms to help you make the change. There’s one for changing your payroll direct deposit*, changing automatic withdrawals, and closing your old account. If you need help filling any of them out, just stop by any Seven Seventeen office or give us a call. We’d be glad to help you fill them out.

*If you receive deposits other than payroll direct deposit, such as retirement or Social Security payments, contact the depositor to find out how to have your deposits changed to your Seven Seventeen Credit Union account.

Open your new checking account at any Seven Seventeen office. We offer a variety of checking options to meet your needs, including FREE checking.

Write down your new account number inside in the space provided (you’ll need it later).

Apply for a Seven Seventeen ATM/VISA® Debit Card.

Start using your Seven Seventeen account.

Destroy your old checks and deposit slips from your old bank.

Let outstanding checks or automatic

withdrawals clear; leave enough money in your old account to cover them. This process may take a few weeks or more.

Tell your employer to change your direct deposit to Seven Seventeen or use the enclosed form. We’ll even help you fill it out. Remember to give them a voided check from your new Seven Seventeen checking account.

Contact other companies who make deposits to your account to find out how to request the change. This could include retirement, pension, Social Security or other payments. They may require you to use a special form, or you may be able to use the enclosed “Change Direct Deposit” form.

Inform each company who makes automatic withdrawals from your account that you have switched to Seven Seventeen. Simply use the enclosed “Automatic Withdrawal” and/or “Direct Payment” forms and enclose a voided check from your new Seven Seventeen checking account. Or, let us help you fill them out.

Switch charges automatically billed to your old check card by contacting the company that receives the payment and telling them to charge your new Seven Seventeen ATM/VISA Debit Card instead. They’ll need your card number and expiration date. Or, you may use the enclosed “Automatic Withdrawal” form.

Ask your old bank to close your account and send you a check for the balance by filling out the enclosed “Close Account” form.First, make sure all outstanding transactions have cleared.

Q. How do I close my old account?

A. We’ve provided a form that you can sign and date to mail or fax to your other financial institution requesting your account be closed. You can even request they send the remaining balance to your new Seven Seventeen Credit Union account!

Q. What do I do with the bills that are automatically paid out of my old account?

A. We have phone numbers for a number of local utility companies and an automatic payment change request and a “Direct Payment” form inside this brochure. All you have to do is complete, sign and then fax or mail the request to each of the companies that receive your automatic payments. Several utility payments may be taken care of at once with the “Direct Payment” form.

Q. What about my direct deposit? It goes into another account.

A. Direct deposit is also available at Seven Seventeen Credit Union. We’ve enclosed a form that you can complete and give to your employer. It includes all the

information needed to start sending your payroll directly to Seven Seventeen rather than to your old account.

Q. Won’t it be a hassle to switch my direct deposits and automatic payments?

A. No. We’ll do everything for you.

Q. What do I do with the checks I already have?

A. Bring them with you. We’ll shred and recycle them.

Q. Do I have to buy more checks?

A. No. We’ll give you 50 free checks with FREE Checking, Basic Checking, or WOW Checking!; or as many checks as you need with our Benefits Plus Checking.

Q. Do you offer free checking?

A. There are several checking accounts to choose from including FREE Checking.

Q. Do you have interest bearing checking?

A. Yes. We have several checking options — one is sure to meet your needs.

 Make sure all checks have cleared your old checking account.

 Make certain enough funds are available in your old account to cover any automatic payments that may still need to be withdrawn.

 Double check maturity dates if transferring a Certificate in order to avoid possible penalties.

 Send a written notice to those who make direct deposits to your old account (payroll, pension, social security, certificate interest payments, etc.) informing them that you want to change your automatic deposit to Seven Seventeen. Simply use the enclosed form entitled “Change Direct Deposit”.

 Send a written notice to those companies who automatically take your payments from your old checking account (utilities, insurance companies, internet service providers, banks, etc.) informing them that you are closing your old account, and would like them to start making the automatic withdrawals from your new Seven Seventeen account. Simply use the enclosed forms entitled “Change Automatic Withdrawal” and/or “Direct Payment”.

 Send a written notice to your old financial institution informing them that you are closing your account. Use the enclosed form entitled “Close Account”.
