Particular focus is placed on development of human resources in Japan and India who can collaborate with each other and contribute to sustainable development covering not only the positive aspects of transport systems and social infrastructure but also negatives, such as environmental and local impacts.

IIT participants will take OGGs-STSI Basic Courses (Introduction to SDGs: Sustainable Infrastructure in India and Japan, Introduction to SDGs: Awareness of “Glocal” Issues and International Collaboration, SDGs seminar: International Co-learning PBL for Problem Solving, Fundamental learning of Japanese language and culture) and gain international research experience through internship at Hokkaido University.

*Please note that there is a possibility to postpone, make it online-mode or call off the internship due to Covid-19 situation.

[Program Details]

*Actual internship period is to be coordinated with the accepting institution.

This subject aims at understanding problems on sustainable transportation system and infrastructure in India. It is important to consider not only the positive effects of the development but also the negative effects on the environment. Students should consider the way to contribute on the development in their own special fields. It is also expected to encourage students to develop a vision for the future. Four omnibus classes are provided by HU. Six other omnibus classes will be provided by IIT via online conference system.
