WORKING EXPERIENCE

1980 – 1981

Teaching Mathematics and Physical Education as an untrained teacher at Kaptagat High School.

Coached the school’s netball team which did very well. 1981 – 1984

Underwent Diploma course in Science Education and physical education. Taught Mathematics and Physical Education in various secondary schools.Coached netball in these secondary schools.

1984 – 1985

1985 – 1988

Taught Mathematics and Physical Education at Wareng High School Was the Assistant Games Master and the Netball Coach at the same school. The team was the district and provincial champions and proceeded to the national level.

1988 – 1991

Taught Mathematics and Physical Education at Uasin Gishu High School. I was the Assistant Games Master and the Netball Coach at the same school. During this time the school became the District Netball Champions and also won the Nyayo Era Netball Trophy. I was the main organizer of netball in Uasin Gishu in all the district and provincial tournaments. Empired netball in all district and provincial tournaments. Assisted primary schools in empirirng netball in their games. Organized and empiried the Rift valley Secondary Schools Netball Association’s games which were held in Eldoret Harambee Secondary School grounds.

1991 – to date

Working as a Games coach in Moi University mainly in charge of the netball team. 1988 – to date

Teaching mathematics privately at various level and continued coaching the Moi University netball team.

PROFFESIONAL EXPERIENCE

1976 – 1977

Acted as a pupil coach in Netball at Mary Hill School. The team proceeded to Provincial level.

1978 – 1989

Acted as a pupil coach in Netball at Kijabe High School. The team performed quite well during this period.

1980 – 1981

Coached Kaptagat High School netball team. The team won the netball trophy in Diocesan School Games which were held in Uasin Gishu Primary School Games. 1982

Acted as a coach player in a college netball team. Represented the college in 3000km walk.

1985 – 1991

Adjudicated gymnastics for primary schools in Uasin Gishu District. Assisted Hill School Primary Gymnastics team which did very well in both the Provincial and National level competitions.

1986 – 1991

Assisted Hill School Primary Gymnastics team in the municipality competitions. 1987 – 1993

1988

Organised and coached the Uasin Gishu District combined netball team for the 10th Nyayo Era Anniversary celebrations. The team did quite well in the games which were held in Nakuru.

1988 – 1989

Coached the Kenya Power and Lighting Company Netball team for the inter - branch championship held in Nakuru. The team won the trophy for the Most Disciplined Team.

1992 – 1993

Coached the Central Bank of Kenya netball team for the inter - branch championship held in Eldoret. The team won the netball trophy.

1991 – 1995

Coached the Moi University netball team. The team has been performing quite well in competitions with other universities and other institutions of higher learning. The team has also participated in district and provincial tournaments and has performed very well.

1992

In charge of the Moi University Health Games and Sports Unit. Started games like football, basketball and netball in the faculty.

Continued coaching various netball teams in the district.

1993

During the inaugural Moi University Netball Triangular the netball team did very well and won the certificate of the most disciplined team. I was also in charge of lawn tennis at Moi University.

1995

In charge of Karate and Basketball for both men and women in the University and also the netball team.

Attended and passed netball course in coaching / umpiring for new rules in netball.

1996

Referring netball the Kenya Teaching Training College games at Baringo T.T.C 1997

Started the Moi University Netball Championship at Chepkoilel campus in March. Attended Kenya Tug of War Association National Technical Course. (Main organizers of the Moi Univesity Netball Festivals.)

Coached National Bank of Kenya netball team in preparation for the inter - branch competition which were held in Nairobi.

Organised the first Darts and Scramble tournament held in Chepkoilel campus. Continued coaching the Moi University netball team.

2000

Organised the Moi University Festival of Arts Netball tournament. Participated in the organizing the Chepkoilel Open Cross-Country. 2001

Refereed the Kenya Secondary Schools Provincial Netball Games held at Kitale in July.

Continued coaching the Moi University netball team. 2003

Attended a conference in International Foundation of Science (IFS) and Inter University Council of East Africa (IUCEA) workshop held at Moi University and presented a paper entitled “Sports and Mathematics”.

2004 – 2005

Continued teaching Mathematics at various levels privately. 2006

Appointed a Research Assistant by the Social Science and HIV/AIDS New Insight and Policy Prospective under Soma Net to carry out a research in two districts in Kenya: Meru and Kajiado.

Marked a thesis at Master level on Statistical Analysis.

Presented the finding of the theme of research in Ethiopia from 17-22 November 2006 on the paper entitled “Gender and Sexual Violence and the spread of HIV/AIDS in Meru Kenya.”

Continued coaching the Moi University netball team. 2007

Attended a conference on “Life Skills Curriculum Development Consultative Workshop” organized by the department of Family and Consumer Sciences Moi University held at AMECEA GABA.

Attended a conference at Moi University of the theme “Knowledge Management through research and innovative technologies for sustainable socio – economic development” and presented a paper entitled “Disclosing gender and Sexual violence”.

Marked a thesis at masters level entitled “Effect of home factors and types of school on academic performance. Of girls in secondary schools in Bungoma District.”

Participated in the Moi University 4th Annual International Confrence held between 29th July 2008 - 2nd August 2008 whose theme was "Resource

Utilization For Sustainable Growth And Development In The 21st Century" and

presented a paper entitled Teaching Mathematical Word Problems in Class 7 and 8: Emerging Strategies.

Continued coaching the Moi University netball team. 2009

Continue lecturing mathematics at Alphax College in Eldoret on part time basis. This college is an affiliated to Jomo Kenyatta University Of Agriculture and Technology (J.K.U.A.T) and Kabarack University .

Presented a paper to a student’s seminar held at Alphax College affiliated to Jomo Kenyatta University Of Agriculture and Technology (J.K.U.A.T) entitled “self discipline and responsibility”.

Presented a paper to a student’s seminar held at Moi Girls Eldoret entitled “the strength of the modern youth”.

Trained Moi University netball team for East African games which were held in Kampala Uganda in February.
